Wonder Woman (2017)

Eh, I love the MCU and at this point never expect the DCEU to get anywhere close to its level of quality, but I still think that Wonder Woman could be a great movie. It looks good, and the people making it seem to have a much better attitude then Snyder or Ayer do toward the character/source material in general.

Personally, I feel that the DCEU managed to achieve the same level of quality as the MCU films. Hell, I also believe that some of the Marvel and DC Comics films outside of these two franchises managed to do the same.

That's fine. We all have opinions. I'm still waiting for an actually good DCEU movie, personally. Suicide squad is entertaining, but only if I treat it like a completely original movie with no connection to the SS characters or comics. The Snyder films are just grim darkness I don't like with a bad Superman and a Batman who has a good actor but is too homicidal and easily manipulated.

But WW really looks like its going to be different, so I'm looking forward to it. I'm also hoping that WB/Geoff Johns finally rein Snyder in and make Justice League tolerable, and that JL is the last Snyder film of the DCEU. If they can get out from under him, I might get excited for more DCEU besides WW. The DCEU can go for a more director driven approach (like they seem to like to do, even if that doesn't always happen like with SS) and be really good, but if they're all just dominated by Snyder's style anyway, that just doesn't work. Hopefully WW will lead the charge to be different. I want the DCEU to be good, even if I'll always count the MCU as the superior superhero movies.

That was a decent trailer. A lot of stuff we've seen before, but the new scenes of Diana's past/training were interesting.

I basically had the same face looking at that trailer as kid Diana had looking at that sword :D

As much as I love that trailer, that "witness the future of justice" tagline seems weird for a movie set a hundred years in the past.

It's the same reason BvS was subtitled Dawn of Justice -- Warner Bros. is desperate to keep reminding us that this is all leading to a Justice League film in the near future.

Yeah, at this point I'm kind of surprised they didn't title this Wonder Woman: The First Leaguer.
