The New USS Discovery....

No matter how advanced the Discovery's own bridge looks, it will be easily explainable. Just have a visitor from another ship say something like "Wow, look at these Mark III bridges! Rest of the fleet's still stuck on the Mark I."

Hmm, those swan neck things on the console could be considered biometric security devices if they wanted to.

Disney also gets that Star Wars is a generational phenomenon and that parents want to share it with their kids. They also know how to merchandize to that end.

Paramount doesn't get that.

Many Star Trek fans don't get that Star Wars is a much, much bigger thing than Star Trek, and it makes no sense for CBS and Paramount to do some of the things that Star Wars can do.

Trek Yards has done another episode on this new ship, this time with a Custom 3D based on the wireframe. Which to me doesn't look very accurate at all.

Apparently they have insider info on how large it is

"We had our amazing Barry Chapman make up a 3D version of the ship we only caught a glimpse of in the Discovery Teaser trailer so that we could discuss the design. We even got the actual measurements from one of the people attached to the show so that we could see what the scaling was like. You might be surprised."

Those Trek Yards videos really need a TLDR versions. I skimmed through it. The scaling of the ship is crazy. It looks like a small ship, this doesn't make sense at all. (And I still don't like the engines.)

It looks like something that should be more the size of the Miranda or NX-01, and from the era between the two.

That's looking like a very subtle way to sneak scales of ships like the Kelvin, Armstrong et al into the Prime verse without actually showing any of them.

Neat, I think. Canon by proxy.

Hallelujah! Someone gets it!

Maybe the Shenzhou is the galaxy class version of the original NX-01 design in contrast to the one-off concept car of Discovery (rebranded by section 31 with a production NCC reg). It could also mean the redesigned Connie Ent will be similar if not larger to Shenzhou when we finally see it.
