Batman with Ben Affleck-- Rumors, pic, etc;

I'm not sure if Terrio doing a rewrite is good news or bad. Yes, he wrote Argo, but he also rewrote Batman v Superman. I am curious to see how Justice League fares, since he won't be working from a David Goyer script this time.

^^
There's already a counter-rumour, the guy that broke the news about Ben leaving says that's not true and everyone at WB is very happy with the latest version of the script.

I didn't see that yet. I always love when all these competing rumors start coming out like this.

You know, I've seen plenty of movies become instant train-wrecks in my time, but I don't think I've seen an entire franchise with so much money behind it plough into the dirt so hard and so fast. So far it's like they can't get a single thing right.
Here's hoping 'Wonder Woman' can break the streak.

From what I gather, it was Ben that had a problem with the state of the script, not the studio so that actually sounds about right. Mind you, these are the same guys who signed off on 'MoS', 'BvS' & 'Suicide Squad', so...yeah.

Well I loved 2 of 3 of those movies, and I found the 3rd one entertaining, so I wouldn't mind.

They're not the same guys however, the people at the top of DCEU changed a while back when Geoff Johns and Jon Berg took over, and WB studio itself changed heads late last year.

I do wonder how many more failures the DCEU will have to endure before they just start over. I've actually liked all three of the movies they've released so far, so I would love to see them turn things around with Wonder Woman and Justice League, but if those two get the same overall reaction as the first three, I just can't see the franchise continuing much longer in it's current form.

They haven't had one failure yet, all of the movies made a ton of money and that's really the only thing that maters to the studio.

Sure, but I could still them considering revamping things since the overall critical and fan reaction has been pretty lousy. Wasn't that already one of the reasons they gave Geoff Johns more creative control?

Not creative control, but an elevated position. It is worth noting that the two scripts that Johns has been involved with since his promotion (Batman and The Flash) have been cast out and the directors for both projects stepped down. Is Johns a help or a hindrance?

Why don't we, uh..., wait for the movie to come out, see it and form an informed opinion on its merits? I know it seems like a novel idea these days, but, maybe, just maybe, it would be more...grounded than baseless speculation generated by click-bait sites with little regard to substance? Just a thought.

First the rumor started that The Batman script was so crap that it was scrapped altogether and a completely new script was commissioned with A PAGE ONE REWRITE!

In the wake of that, there was the rumor that the scrapped The Batman script was actually EPIC and possibly THE BEST Batman script ever written!

Now that the first rumor was debunked and WB and Ben Affleck is pleased with it the script is CRAP AGAIN!

I mean COME ON NOW! This is getting beyond ridiculous!
That is indeed remarkable. I swear, I think people who work for these media sites start rumors just to make news. Because they know there is no real news on any of this right now.

No news like bad news. And considering the DCEU is a $2 billion dollar franchise in just 3 movies, there is more than a big enough audience to spin speculation and attract their curiosity with half truths and innuendo.

After the movie premiers I'm fully expecting titles like:

Has "The Batman" really been released or is it all an elaborate hoax!
Our reporter Nerd McBeard told his local screening is "sold-out", but is it really or is it all a cover-up for a movie that doesn't even exist?

But if the rumors say it is bad, It will be a terrible movie! ;)

If you guys want me to stop posting this stuff I will. I usually just try to post anything I see on a legitimate site like IGN, CBR, or Io9.
I'm curious if Reeves potentially directing The Batman will have any effect on his plans for future Apes movies.
