The Defenders--Marvel/Netflix

Interesting that apparently Danny is the one who kind of brings the group together and sort of is the one to tell them all what's going on. Makes sense, I guess, since his show is the last to debut before The Defenders. I wonder if the first season will end in a way that leads directly into the start of The Defenders.

Here is a description of a clip from Iron Fist that was shown at NYCC...

The clip begins with Danny chained up to a hospital bed. He's been sedated, so when Harold Meachum walks in and starts talking to him, their conversation has a dream-like quality to it. A sleepy-Danny says he thought Harold was dead; Harold says he thought Danny was dead. Danny mentions that they have that in common. Harold says he knows Danny was taken in by the order of the "Crane Mother," and is curious where the monastery is. Danny answers, "K'un-Lun," and he explains that he probably never should have left. He confesses to training as a warrior and how combat brought him focus. Harold presses him to find out more, and Danny tells him of how he became a warrior of the Iron Fist, in a long line of them, and it is his mission to destroy The Hand. "I'm the only one who can do it," Danny says. Before departing, Harold, trying to sound sincere, promises to take care of everything and tells Danny to go back to sleep.

Those most recent images are pretty sexist. Ritter has to show her ass while all the other guys are front shots? Even in the scene of her walking up the stairs?

Would be nice if Stan Lee actually made an appearance in one of the Netlfix series instead of just a photograph of him as a cop.

The sad truth is, Stan is just too old now to just hop on a plane to NYC on a casting directors whim. There was a reason why they recently filmed four cameos for Stan in one shoot.

Yeah. They can never overuse Stan Lee in my opinion. Plus, remember the last Marvel hero based movie without a Stan Lee cameo? It was Fant4stic, and we all know how that turned out. The Netflix Marvel saeries could use a real Stan Lee cameo. Maybe not in every season, but its the big crossover series. Its a special enough occasion that I think it would warrant it. Plus, if Agent Carter can somehow get a Stan Lee cameo, a show that definitely didn't deserve it, you'd think Defenders could get it.

Then again, I think its the netflix shows devotion to grimdarkness that keeps the real Stan from cameoing, not lack of availability. Can't have Stan Lee take time away from watching Punisher cry, Matt's friends berate him for being a hero or from Jessica Jones being an obnoxious idiot. Luke Cage I honestly think could have fit him in better then Daredevil or JJ and actually made it work pretty seamlessly.

He wasn't in Days of Future Past was he? And that worked out pretty well.

Not saying he shouldn't of course, just sayin!

Although, I do think his cameos need to be done right. The MCU ones get it right when he appears during a lighthearted, non-super important scene. I just didn't like his cameo in X-Men Apocalypse when the nuclear missiles are launching. It's meant to be the serious scene, scary seeing just how powerful Apocalypse is and what he can do, and indeed what he's gonna do with those nukes... then Stan Lee just completely takes you out of the scene.

Stan's wife in his Apocalypse cameo was his real life wife Joan.

Who did the voices of Madame Web in the '90s Spider-Man animated series and the FF's landlady in the '90s Fantastic Four animated series. So this was her third Marvel screen production, albeit the first where she was seen and not heard. Also the third time she and her husband have performed together, which occurred in one episode each of the respective animated series.

New set pics show Charlie Cox, Krysten Ritter and Mike Colter shooting a scene in a subway car. We've already heard that The Defenders will have an obligatory hallway fight scene, maybe they'll shake things up a bit with a subway brawl as well.;)

So I wonder what's behind them that they're out on the street, but still need a green screen?

Well, they're running away from it, and one of them appears to be injured and being carried, so maybe a CGI explosion, fire, or building collapse.

Although in general, there's nothing unusual these days about greenscreen use in location shoots, since they're often used for set extensions -- e.g. making a scene shot in Vancouver look like Washington, DC or Paris or Victorian London. In this case, it could be as simple as making it look like they're running from a more well-known location where they couldn't actually shoot, like City Hall or Times Square.

I suspect this season, yeah. I do think Danny logically needs one (particularly since he's famous), but we'll see how the show goes. I could also see his interactions with Daredevil as an inspiration for later getting a costume.
