I have always loved the design of the Intrepid class ships. They look sleek and fast.
It's not up to the actor to leave; the producers hold the contract. If Beltran was so dissatisfied then he probably should have gotten out at season 3 or six.
He tried but wasn't allowed to leave. If Beltran was so dissatisfied then he probably should have gotten out at season 3 or six.
When exactly did he ask to get out?He tried but wasn't allowed to leave.
And for once I'm grateful to those in charge. If he had left, they would have killed off or ruined Chakotay which would have meant that my second favorite character of the show would have been destroyed.
I don't remember but I think it was in season 5 or 6 but it wasn't public until after the series had ended. When exactly did he ask to get out?
On the show or off............I doubt he'd be any more sought after had he left to pursue other acting gigs.If Beltran had left nothing would change really
This is something I would really be interested in learning more about. I know they had contracts that were renewed halfway through the show. I wonder if they were able to quit if they wanted to at that point or not. I assume they always have the option of quitting whenever they want but since they have a contract there would be penalties for it such as a large fine or something.
In one TV show I was watching (don't know if it's at all acurate or not) an actor was trying to get out of the show he was doing and he was told that he could leave if he wanted to but he would have a huge fine and since his contract was for 2 more years they can prevent him from working anywhere else for those 2 years.
I've definately heard this from Robbie Mcniel. He said when he first got the job on Voyager he was already at the point where he wanted to direct more than act.I hope they do a version of Chaos on the Bridge for Voyager.
From what I gather, McNeil and Dawson didn't mind their characters getting less screen time as they were busy building second careers behind the camera. That's also why they don't do a lot of conventions. It's not that they don't like the fans, it's because they are always working!
