They're still going ahead with that thing?
Looking forward to the eradication of the Alien 3 abomination. Sadly, Blomkamp's language about the Alien 5 movie appears not entirely committed to this fan specific fan request. They probably figure out how to have Hicks, Newt, Ripley, and Bishop both dead and alive in some fashion that preserves the loathed reality that some fans actually like.
I would love to have Neill Blomkamp's ALIEN5 coming out in 2017 instead of Alien: Covenant. It seemed to me that Ridley Scott wasn't interested one bit in making Prometheus 2 until Blomkamp's pitch started gaining ground in the internet and the social media (and within Fox apparently).
Man, Fox is going all-in on the book front - we're getting a prequel novel, novelization AND "Official" sequel novel to Covenant!! The last is scheduled for release September 26.
Maybe they'll work up an English translation of that Japan-only Prometheus novelization while they're at it...

And Blomkamp had Sigourney Weaver in his movie too! I really hope that movie does happen but it seems Scott wants to give us two more prequels which could delay this big time.
Even if Scott's two planned follow-ups to Covenant weren't in the way of Alien5, James Cameron's Avatar II, III, IV and V (ALL being shot simultaneously as we speak) definitely is. By the time Sigourney gets freed up from that, she'll be at or near 70 years old.
^ I stand corrected. Cameron's doing experimental 'groundwork' shots not involving the cast at the moment. But if Avatar II's going to release anywhere near the currently-slated December 2018 date, they're gonna have to get going into main production in very short order.
Since there's talk that will be the Han Solo date, it seems Avatar 2 has already been pushed back, again.
Isn't that the second time they are pushing back the release?
Hell no. The pushback is a continuous process. See my previous post. They say fusion is always 20 years away. Avatar is like that.
I hope it is better than the first one. The first one was garbage. Can't believe I paid good money to see it.
