If you could step into the Star Trek universe, what's the first thing you would do?

Just travel aimlessly, bouncing around like a billiard ball. I'd start by hanging around Star Base 11 for awhile though, if they'd let me. It just seems to be an amazing looking place, once you get away from the office.

Being on the Enterprise, with all the crises, no. It's a lot more fun watching from an easy chair. Nerve wracking in person. But if I were anywhere else, I'd wonder, is the universe about to get snuffed out because somewhere out there in space, Kirk screws up?

If you're going to the star trek universe, be sure you can choose your place and time. Otherwise you will probably end up in some galaxy you never heard of billions of years in the past or future and not know anything about your situation.

Go to the doctor and get all my aches and pains perma-cured and probably take a pill or something that gave me a life expectancy of 140.

I want to go OUT into that wider world they only show us in little glimpses and hints and lines of dialogue. ST confines us to these ships most of the time. I'd want to get OUT.

I thought that was two pills. Didn't McCoy tell that old lady who was doing dialysis in the hospital to 'Take two of these and call me in the morning.' (Star Trek IV: The Voyage Home) Either way, I would be satisfied.

The TNG era seems to be the most peaceful period, during Enterprise there was too much unknown, and TOS there was trouble with the Klingon Empire that would have made travel a bit more hazardous. I'd step into 2365, just to make sure I didn't end up in any part of Season 1 TNG. I'd get a job in a university, I'm sure anyone of them would love to have an expert on late 20th and early 21st century Earth. Nobody has to work, but those who do probably get more transporter credits, gold-pressed latinum to buy stuff outside of the Federation, holodeck time, etc. I'd study all of the history I missed and take any opportunity to explore other planets. I think I'd be most interested in the colonial system of the time.
