I love Tony Todd, I think he's an amazing actor. Did you know he was in the running for the role of Benjamin Sisko?

What I am surprised at is Cryptic. Normally, they only reserve such promotional articles for main cast actors who have the "star power" to draw players in to play the featured episode. So on one hand I'm happy they're giving Tony Todd this level of treatment, I'm also a little puzzled Kurn/Rodek is given this honor.

I am pretty sure Tony Todd has more star power than Chade Masterson who they build the entire mirror universe expansion around.
Plus he had many roles in Trek and can be used for different characters.
Next to Kurn there is also older Jake Sisko or that Hirogen Captain he played on Voyager of the top of my head.

Todd -- or his agent -- might have asked for that kind of promotion. He got burned, badly, by Axanar: He was led to believe that it was an officially licensed project, he left after finding out the truth, the Axanar folks continued promoting him as a part of the project for more than a year after he left, and when he came out about why he bailed, the Axanar response was that he wanted too much money. I imagine he's happy to be back in the fold on a project that isn't going to get sued into oblivion.

I mean, STO's storyline sucks, and sucks hard, but he's at least doing honest work.

There is an interview with him at the bottom of the article

At the end he implies that Worf might be in the mission he is apart of.

Yeah it certainly feels very different from the Tzenkethi I know from the novels.

Well STO wants to be unique from the novels.

Plus apparently Robert Hewitt Wolfe who wrote the episode that mentioned that the Tzenkethi he imagined them either similar to the Kzinti or armoured lizards.
Intact the name Tzenkethi came from merging Kzinti with another race from another series I'm drawing a blank on

  11. On the fence about this. Another over-gunned hyper-aggressive gimmic race to beat up, subdue and stuff into a lockbox. Basically Orcs In Space from the treatment we are getting.

The Vaduwaar were interesting, so were the Krennim. The Na'Khul were less so, they were a bit one-dimensional. Hopefully they flesh these new guys out beyond "angry aggressive and full of weapons." Perhaps a motivation beyond anger, revenge, and vengeance?

    We'll see how it goes!

Well, we have no idea why they wiped out the population of 20 Draconis, they didn't conquer the planet afterwards.

If they're anything like the cunning, subversive novel-verse Tzenkethi, they would make interesting opponents. Anyway because of their DS9 link, I'm seriously hoping the story would somehow lead to a gamma quadrant expansion.

The optimist in me would hope for a gamma quadrant which focuses on the post-Dominion dominance nature of the region, where places are still recovering, new factions (many races seen in DS9) have risen to prominence, with assorted conflict, the remnants of the weakened Dominion are trying to hold on to power, and it is all very interesting DS9 writing. The less optimist in me feels it would be a rehash of known elements in the worst, and would be a total rehash of the Dominion as if the Dominion War never happened and nothing changed.

It would likely be a place where they'd bring back DS9 voice cast and characters, as they did with Delta Rising. Given that, one can assume Odo would be brought back as the leader of the Great Link, Quark would probably be there trying to exploit the quadrant and that may be the story thread, and they would try to get Sisko back although I think Avery Brooks would be on the fence or opposed to returning due to lack of interest in a video game (that's how I read the guy), so it may be either dropped or another voice actor. And it would be Sisko as a voice of the Prophets doing something from that non-linear region. That's how I read things, based on how they do plots in STO.

    Legacy of Romulus - TNG-ish
    Delta Rising - VOY
    Agents of Yesterday - TOS+ENT+KelvinVerse

Couple with the fact that the Executive Producer just hinted the current storyline will continue into 2018 (possibly moving forward to the year 2411), there is a high chance of getting a DS9-centric expansion in 2018.

As for VOs, Michael Dorn (Worf), Nicole de Boer (Ezri), Armin Shimerman (Quark), Aron Einsenberg (Nog), Chase Masterson (Leeta) and Tony Todd (as adult Jake Sisko) have signed on in the past and should have no problems signing on again. I'm somewhat sure Nana Visitor (Kira), Colm Meany (O'Brien), Cirroc Lofton (young Jake Sisko), Max Grodenchik (Rom) and Andrew Robinson (Garak) wouldn't be a problem.

That leaves Alexander Siddig (just my personal impression, could be totally off-base), Terry Ferrell (who may have hurt feelings) and Avery Brookes (who is above this silly game stuff). At least with Brookes, there's a chance to lure him in if Cryptic can offer him a featured episode centered on black issues (Maybe a followup to Far Between The Stars?).

At worst case, DS9 has a huge cast and if past expansions can get by without William Shatner and Kate Mulgrew, a DS9 expansion can survive without one or three of the cast.

NX Refit is coming with Season 12, no idea in what way yet.

I'm guessing Lockbox or R&D considering it is even older then the TOS Connie.

Yep! It is Doug Drexler's refit. He even posted it on his Facebook page.

    Here is the Lukari/Anniversary ship

  20. So far it's looking like another "Crush Kill Destroy The Federation" adversary -- again.

Deploying super-weapons, loaded with silly gimmick weapons... Get a handful of episodes where we smack them into submission and move on to grinding for more marks.

Sweet! Looking forward to it -- :D
