Playing mostly 23d century now. Is it worth going back to the 25d?

I would love more 23rd cent. content. I regret not spending more time with the Foundry, I should set aside some time to learn the process.

Or find someone who can do the technical side of things while I write. Last I knew the Foundry did not permit collaborative efforts so that'll be challenging.

I've written a couple of foundry missions. It's not that hard to learn, but it cannot do a lot. Also, building a brand new map from scratch is a tedious process that can take a few days for a simple map to months for a complicated map.

It is coming soon.

They're probably making sure the content works, or just don't want to overwhelm with content.

Probably a bit of both.
It us probably easier to port over a smaller build and do the expansions later on on top.
Also if you put the entire thing on a system where everyone just started at zero it is a bit overwhelming and people will buy less stuff.

Though, just to point out, all the AOY is on the consoles, they're just disabled.

Sometimes you can see New TOS character show up for like half a second at character creation.

My friend managed to select it once, but the game just crashed.

So how does the TOS faction work? Because last I knew (not from experience) it was an area of play until you got to the end of the missions and then were playing in the 25th century via time travel. Personally, I would prefer the option of playing in the TOS era forever in that chosen character.

^ Basically it's just 10 missions. And then in the 25th century. I did them around the time they were launched, but hadn't bothered since then.

Is the Foundry working again? Last I heard it had been disabled after the graphical update.

the Atlas looks like a TOS Style Command Cruiser.

Have some videos of the Lockbox and lobi ships

I want that NX refit like nothing else. Two problems: You have to buy it with Loki, and as far as I know it won't be on Xbox for quite some time.

:weep:

I just buy my lockbox/ Lobi ships off the exchange.

but I don't know how the economy is on the consoles to guess if it would be worth it like on PC.

I have about 1 million EC in my oldest character (only been playing since it debuted on XBox last year). Doubt that'll be enough to get the NX refit -- I imagine I'll need 10x that. I've heard Kelvin Constitution class ships run upwards of 24 million. I wish they'd just sell the damn thing for zen in the C-store. I'd gladly drop $30 for the NX.

From what I understand, CBS won't let them sell certain types of ships in the C-Store because they don't want players having direct access to them, with Lockboxes/Lobi not everyone can easily get them.

If you notice most Lockbox ships are non-Federation/KDF/ROM Alien ships, or alternate reality ships.

Though I'm not sure how this applies to the NX-Refit because there is already a version in the Store. Maybe the age of the ship?

They wouldn't let them sell a T6 TOS Connie because they didn't want that ship fighting along with newer ships.

Ugh, I don't get why they put those restrictions on the game. It doesn't make sense to me. At least with popular ships, why not let people fly the ships they really want to fly?

They probably allow the NX (the low tier version) because you really can't use it past like level 15 or so. It's just way too underpowered.

I don't remember the exact reason CBS gave, this post was from years ago, and was from a dev, but something like CBS didn't want the ships 'polluting' the game with non Faction Designs.

well that plan kind of failed, I see a lot of Non-Faction ships out there.
