The Action Figure and Toy Collecting and Discussion Thread!

I figured there was some action missed in my picture with the millipedes. Or maybe Kirk has a nightmare after being back home ;)

Also, I got an office chair, and it's awesome! It even swivels and reclines. I love it!

Great pics, love the office chair, looks more comfortable than his command chair!

Pukaski looks terrific too - it always bothered me that Playmates went for the lazy headswap instead of doing the character justice.

Except the figure came out years after she'd left the show - I think it would have been around 1994 or 1995. Playmates were just too cheap to adjust the tooling.

Or they based it on that one early publicity shot where she wore the regular uniform.

Thanks!

You're right, I think she did come out towards the end of Playmates line, and they were just saving money and reusing a lot of the exisiting bodies they had for figures.
Still, I'm glad they made her anyway, even if the uniform wasn't spot on!

I haven't watched TNG yet so I don't know her but again the repainted version looks so much better. If you have the time and patience, you definitely should stick with that. You certainly have talent. Taking the shine off alone improves it much. And the face make-up is much more subtle as well. Well done!

Many thanks, do they making them less shiny helps a lot!

Hopefully I will get round to doing some more soon, I might have a go at the TMP original crew next!

I was in Target last night and noticed these deals. I wanted to let you guys know if anyone was interested.

Just a couple examples of some awesome deals to be found at Target.

I saw the Air Hogs Enterprise-A at my own local Target a few days back. I didn't check the price but it had been moved to the clearance aisle of the toy department since Christmas. It's one of the only pieces of Star Trek merchandise outside the electronics department of the store.

I think those are really good prices, I just have no interest. Yes I'm still kinda pissed that I missed when Target put the Black Series Tie Fighter on clearance. I really wanted that, but I didn't go to Target for a while and boom it was gone.

Just added the Funko Kitty Pryde to my Marvel Funko collection.

So far she's the only one of the X-Men I have. I might get Storm and Psylocke later.

I cant wait til I have a classroom again, so I'd get a few of those figures

I could go for the Enterprise. The Millenium Falcon is still more than I want to pay for a toy.

Haha! Those look great!
Thank you! They're really awesome. I have long searching for something like this, but usually pom poms come in odd colors like red and blue. But I'll do one with pink Tribbles as they were pink in the animated series ;)

Today something from X-files. I want to change this Big Foot figure into a Mugato but he should have at least one adventure as himself first.

What would be scarier, that there is a Bigfoot or that he speaks better English than most people?

CCC.
Hehe! One of those things that ended up differently than planned. Originally I wanted Scully say this but the speech bubble did not fill well into the picture. Much better with the big guy!

The closest I will get to living in a big manor and have a butler - Alfred Pennyworth! He comes with a huge fireplace. Alfred, played by Sean Pertwee, is one of the best things of this series. He's also quite a fighter. But I'll have to repaint his hair, as it looks awful like this. It should be darker grey on top and lighter grey at the sides, but this looks as if he had the backside shaved!

I did a test whether he can serve the silver tea tabled. He can hold it better than Ianto.

I got him very cheap, did you know there is something like Amazon warehouse deals? The box was a bit bent but as I take them out anyway, I didn't mind.

Actually the doll house furniture at Hobby Lobby is more in scale with these figures than the 4" scale and more classical in style to compliment the fireplace. I can usually only adapt the occasional item from there.

I've found that dollhouse furniture which is usually in 1:12 like chairs and tables work better with my 5" Doctor Who and Torchwood figures than with the bigger 6"-7" ones. They're too big to properly sit on. This is why I was so happy to find all those Wrestling figures accessories, as they are also bigger.

But once I have Bruce Wayne I'll set up a proper manor scene with all the stuff I have. Book shelves, chess set... It'll be awesome!
