What sequel would you most like to see?

Kind of an unpopular one here, as I was only one of about three people on the planet that enjoyed it, but I'd love to see a sequel to Terminator: Genisys
Only if they use it to reverse that idiotic, moronic half-wit idea that John Connor is a Terminator.

You know, the plot point that effectively rendered the rest of the series pointless?

How about some real sequels to Creepshow, on a par with the original? They should number them like comic books: Creepshow #2, Creepshow #3....

You know, I didn't really have a problem with John Connor as a Terminator. Technically, he did live up to his prophecy of the one to bring humanity from the brink and destroy SkyNet. To teach humanity how to fight, organize, and smash those metal motherfuckers into junk. :)

There was no prophecy regarding what happened afterwards, however, and I like that it takes a page from our old pal Harvey Dent from The Dark Knight: "You either die a hero, or live long enough to see yourself become the villain."

Actually, 2061 was my favorite of the books, and not just because it was set on my hundredth birthday.

Well, Happy 100th Future Birthday! ;)

Actually thinking back on it, 2061 wasn't all that bad. But 3001 is where it felt like he knew he had to end it, but didn't know how, but was likely contracted by the publisher and had to. Which is kind of the same way I feel about Asimov's Foundation series as they progressed. They just got weirder and weirder, with the last one tying everything together within his world. Then kind of redeemed himself with both prequels.

Who gets Anne Francis's part? (With the obligatory modern-day weapon.)
Speaking for myself, I was thinking of a different cast of characters (and no Millennial modernization). None of those actors could ever be replaced, especially Anne Francis.

Thank you. :rommie:

Agreed on both. 3001, rather than being the Final Odyssey, pretty much begs for a 4001. And the Foundation Series ends with Trevize choosing Galaxia-- which we know cannot be.

Wasn't Syfy going to make 2061 into a miniseries? Whatever happened with that?
They were working on Rendezvous With Rama, but I don't know what the current status is.

• Dredd 2
• Man of Steel 2
• Master & Commander 2
• Edge of Tomorrow 2
• 2061: Odyssey Three
• Neill Blomkamp's Aliens 2
• Tron 3 (only if Daft Punk return)
• Starship Troopers (a proper adaptation)
• RoboCop 4 (or should that be 5?)
• Red/Rogue Squadron: A Star Wars Story

Dave 2. Twenty-five years later, someone proves that Dave was "president," and this obscure state legislator who, curiously, married a former First Lady, suddenly becomes the focus of a media blitz.

After the King. Aragorn in the Fourth Age. (I'm curious if the film rights held by Tolkien Enterprises permit original films. If so, I have lots of ideas.)

Not really a sequel... Spamalot: The Movie. The musical, as a movie. I'd have preferred it ten years ago with the original cast (Tim Curry, David Hyde-Pierce, Hank Azaria), but I'll take it now.

And a sequel that I know what I'd do with it, but the moment for it truly passed a long time ago, and not just because Robin Williams is dead... Dead Poets Society 2.

2001 is my favorite movie of all time, though I also like 2010 very much and I think it's a worthy sequel. I have read 2061 and 3001 although I think any movies made from them would be too weird for my liking.

I would love a 2061 movie. Thinking about it, I'm not sure how cinematic it would be. I don't mean visually cinematic! We're talking about a story that goes from Halley's Comet to the lush and verdant surface of Europa. Dramatically, it's a very flat story -- spaceship crashes on Europa, another spaceship comes along and rescues it, there's some monolith stuff along the way. There would probably need to be some invented conflict, like the US and the USSR on the brink of war in the 2010 film, and structuring the film dramatically would be a challenge. I think it's doable, though, and the result would be worth it.

Haven't read the trhead, so sorry if it was mentioned -

I'm still waiting for Arnie to do a "King Conan" film.

"Buckaroo Banzai Against the World Crime League" sequel to Buckaroo Banzai (1984)
"Space Battleship Yamato 2
" sequel to Space Battleship Yamato(2010)
"Gatchaman 2"
sequel to Gatchaman(2013)

And I'm kinda disappointed that we never got a sequel to "The Shadow."
The Shadow was a disappointment to me, but at one time there was talk of a Shadow-meets-Doc Savage movie, which has a lot of possibilities.
