Spoilers DC's Legends of Tomorrow - Season 2

In that final battle on the roof we saw Amaya invoke the power of something other than Grodd which is her usual choice, this time it was an Elephant after which she started to do... roundhouse kicks? :wtf:

Now, I'm no zoologist, but I'm pretty sure roundhouse kicks aren't in an elephants arsenal.

I wonder how the Dominators are viewed in the interstellar community. That kind of interventionist attitude on a pre-FTL planet no less (I count the 1951 encounter as murder though that tends to be a staple of fiction) must not be popular. One wonders if they only maintain their status because of superior technology alone.

Well, the Earth-38 (or, umm, Universe-38) Dominators aren't very well-regarded, judging from Kara's testimony in part 1 about how they raided Krypton in the past.

I sure hope Wally gets to fight alongside everyone else in next year's presumable crossover.

I guess they don't adhere to the Shadow Proclamation.

The classic Silver Age explanation for Superman is that he used superstrength to compress his (specially made or treated) street clothes into wafers that he hid in a pouch in his cape along with his glasses.

I was actually thinking this as a possible answer before you posted, but then I thought - how the hell do they UNCOMPRESS them?! You can't actually reverse-squeeze things...

He's not ready yet, not on the team. And he was injured by Supergirl in part 1. Even with accelerated healing, he may still be recovering.

Do we even know if Wally HAS accelerated healing? His Flashpoint version didn't, which was cited as odd since speedsters normally do.

 So it's not just me! Yeah, her power to channel the ability of animals is pretty underwhelmingly realized when it basically amounts to doing martial arts like all the non-powered folks on these shows.

I guess trampling down Dominators and swapping them aside with her trunk just wasn't in the budget.
I just took it as her conjuring up an elephant's strenght to keep up.

^^
I wasn't expecting any big CGI sequence, just for her to do something elephanty, like stampeding into a bunch of Dominators and knocking them to the ground :D

Hence the "specially treated" part. Maybe they're like the Flash's costume in the comics, which could compress to fit inside a ring. (Reverse Flash had this in the show, and Cisco was interested in figuring out how to replicate it, but he hasn't cracked it yet, apparently.)

Oh -- I don't know.

Yeah, I haven't been too thrilled with the realization of Vixen's powers here. Mostly it's just superstrength, which isn't executed very interestingly in the stunt choreography, with the occasional use of animal senses. It's much more impressive on the animated webseries. Perhaps Mari is just more skilled with the totem's powers than her grandmother.

True. They could get more creativ with her powers.
Maybe it takes a Vixen-centric episode to do that, where she gets to fly like an eagle, gets ultrasound sonar like dolphins, camouflage like a chaemeleon, and so on.

I did think that the spin-kick moves Vixen was doing in "elephant" mode were sort of evocative of an elephant swinging its trunk, in a way.

Hmm... "Vixen" literally means a female fox. But if Vixen called on the power of a fox, what power would that be? They don't seem to have much in the way of specific abilities beyond general canine stuff. I guess maybe speed or agility, or the ability to pounce from ambush. (Although I'm sure that when Gerry Conway and Bob Oksner created the character, they were thinking of "vixen" in the slang sense of a foxy lady, a sex kitten or vamp.)

Skipping most of this thread to avoid spoilers as we're a bit behind in The Uk, but Mick Rory is the best thing about any of the Dc shows at present.
He's perfectly cast and his mixture of gruff humour combined with I don't give a shit-eness ( If that's not a word it is now) means he lights this show up.

Funny thing is, I never used to like him in the beginning, it wasn't until Snart put him off the ship and he came back as Chronos that the character started to develop.

More Mick please.

Fox powers would be the ability to make dogs roll in your crap.

Might work well if your main enemies are werewolves.
