I only wanted to warn you that in this forum, the participants are usually courteous between them, even if sometimes, some people like to pull your leg, it always remains very nice and often funny. And besides, it is one of reasons why I like discussing here.
-> if you had treated me with a " what a crazy girl you are to think that" after several posts, I would have smiled but yes, there, I was very surprised. Especially since it was the first post coming from you, which I read.
Anyway, it's already over for me and I'm pretty sure that in the future, we shall have the opportunity to tease each other more than of reason!
About the using of the word "bimbo", I think that it is a question of culture. I come from France and here, as well, the term of "babe" is unknown, as well the "bimbo" one is often used (in a mindless way and distorted, for sure) when we speak about a young woman who gets dressed in provocative way, highlighting her attributes through her poses and/or her tight clothes. In the first part of s4, some people like me, had difficulty in overriding this image (furthermore, I liked Jennifer Lien's sweet Kes. So, to see the actress leaving in a forced way to make the place available to Jeri Ryan and her advantageous forms, greatly disturbed me. I know it was unfair to think like that but well...!). But once this phase was over, I eventually appreciated Ryan acting (she really took up her character as Mulgrew with Janeway, Picardo with the Doctor and Russ with Tuvok) and the complexity of her character, who became me more and more endearing. And for that, just![]()
I agree with this and the recent above posts about the language/culture differences-- that makes sense.
And I will say, I understand where you're coming from when you said you were initially put-off by the addition of the character. I have benefit of seeing it all 15 years after it ended so my viewing of this cast/character change was never really tainted because I had had the full picture of what would happen and how Seven would become a popular character.
