Voyager condensed into one season

5. That episode where they tried to re-write the earlier history of Voyager by pretending that Seven was on the ship from the beginning. (I don't remember the name of that episode).
Do you mean THE VOYAGER CONSPIRACY? Or is it LATENT IMAGE? Or which one?

Well, I don't consider that episode a Kes episode but it was the episode where they tried to destroy and humiliate the character.

You posted in the first thread I have read here in this forum. It was about why Jennifer Lien left. I remember that and so it must have been that episode.

Personally I liked it.(I wanted to choose a small font-size but I guess there is only one.)

Relativity? Season 5, E 23. I liked that too. Did you think it was somehow negative against Kes? That she wasn't mentioned perhaps? They did it on TNG mit Tasha Yar - to bring her back in an episode like this.
And Kes is the reason why you dislike "The gift"?

I wasn't always too fond of Kes. First, her boyfriend Neelix. :D And then she was sometimes a bit too nice and I disliked the idea of the 7year lifespan. The Ocampa were a highly illocical construct.
She grew on me though and I would have voted for her to stay, not for Harry. ;) They should have done more with Kes. She sometimes had a good function but often not so much. Also the episode when they met the second caretaker. That was interesting. She was a bit too powerful in the end but I found her powers always interesting when they showed them.

So I did make an impression? ;)

It wasn't "The Gift" which I meant. OK, I don't like "The Gift" because Kes left in that episode but it's a far more worse episode in season 6 which begins with "F". I hate this episode so much that I have chosen not to mention it by name anymore.

When I watched "Relativity" many years ago, I was angry because I saw it as a way to-rewrite history with Seven and without Kes. If it was supposed to be some sort of flashback episodes, they could at least have had some footage of Kes in it.

I agree that the seven-year lifespan was a mistake and that they really messed up the Ocampa. Still, I like that species.

As for Kes's powers, they messed them up in "The Gift" onkly because that was a way to get rid of the character as soon as possible which was their purpose. Otherwise her powers were rather limited and that's OK for me.

"Cold Fire", the episode with the female Caretaker is my favorite episode. :techman:

You all did. :D

Ah, I thought you didn't like the direction she was taking in that episode. Of course, if she had stayed they wouldn't have done that (as you mentioned later too) super-power-thing in the end.

Yes, it would have been cool to see Kes in that episode. I guess they didn't bother. But I have never understood the episode as a re-write since Seven was only there for a few hours in each period.
God, it would have been cool if Janeway met her together with Kes and not B'elanna (it was her, was it not?)

That was really an interesting arc, much better than the Kazon-arc, which was really annoying.

You all did. :D

I actually like the Kazon-arc too. Culluh and Seska are my favorite villains in Voyager, no wait, Henry Starling is with Culluh and Sesak on second place.

The hair, the hair!
Now that you say it there were some good episodes (the one with the alliance and the Seska steals Voyager episodes were great) but there were also episodes like Chakotay meets Kazon-Nog.
Seska was nice of course without the Kazon too: Rebellion Alpha.

I'm the same way. I've tried to make a favorites list but it always changes.
I actually can't even make a list, I like them all so much! Well ... with a few exceptions. But that would still leave me with 160 favourite episodes of Voyager ...
However, number 1 is undoubtedly SCORPION for me. That much is clear. Then everything else is ... second favourite ... xD.

As many of you have already said: It's too hard to come up with a list, because most of the Voyager episodes are good and many are fantastic. :)

And I'm with some of you - I just have a strong dislike for FURY, FAIR HAVEN, SPIRIT FOLK and ENDGAME ... followed by a few other episodes that I don't enjoy watching very much.

I had to search for it but it was "Relativity".
Perhaps you should re watch that episode. There is nothing about it that's "pretending" that Seven was there from the beginning. She went back in time to a point before Voyager was in the DQ, but she changed her appearance, and when she was questioned she gave a madeup name.

I don't have the DVD:s with that episode.
And still it did look like a sort of re-write to show "how Voyager really should have been done from the start".

"The horrible episode in season 6" and "Endgame" are really bad.
I don't like "Fair Haven" and "Spirit Folks" either. I find them boring but not as annoying and insulting as "that episode in season 6" and "Endgame".

They are available online for free if you wanted to watch. But I disagree that it looked that way. Seven was trying not to be noticed at all.

You are correct. Because she was being sent to these time periods by Braxton. To the time before Voyager was launched when it was at Utopia Planetia. And to some point, I'm guessing season 2 when they were fighting with the Kazon.

But still (and I've said this before). Relativity, Latent Image, Shattered, either of those could have been used to bring back Kes in a flashback sequence. But, the way it seemed in Fury made with the younger Kes making that recording to her older self. Well it makes it seem like the younger Kes and the younger Janeway knew all along that something would happen. And that makes it even sadder to me. Who wrote Fury, was it Braga?

If Denise Crosby could have been brought back for Yesterday's Enterprise, Unification, All Good Things, and whichever other ones she was in. Why couldn't the same thing have been done for Jennifer Lien, as long as she was available for the job. Yeah, yeah, I know, different show, different producers, writers, yadda, yadda.

Braga, Bryan Fuller and Michael Taylor wrote that insulting piece of s**t.
I read somewhere that they spent Christmas writing it.
Oh, what a nice gift to the Kes fans, wasn't it?

They spent two seasons trying to pretend that Kes never existed. During that time she was never mentioned and never showed up in any flashbacks either.

But then, all of a sudden they brought back the character, only to humiliate and destroy her and then there were no problems in bringing back the actress as well.

For all you know they did try to get her back earlier and she had other commitments. Speculate all you want but nobody knows what really went on behind the scenes

That's why I added the qualifier, she may not have been available to work during those times (when Latent Image, Relativity or Shattered were being filmed). Or if the actress for some reason didn't want to do these other episodes. I read she did some voice work for animated films after Voyager.

4.Jetrel
5.Investigations
6.Deadlock
7.Basic 1 and 2
8.Futures End 1 and 2
9.Blood Fever
10.Before and After
11.Displaced
12.Day of Honor
13.Scientific Method
14.Message in a Bottle
15.Living Witness
16.Drone
17.Bliss
18.Timeless
19.Relativity
20. Barge of the Dead
21.Blink of an Eye
22. One Small Step
23. Pathfinder

Yeah, I know I didn't leave enough room for Endgame, so, I guess I would switch out Bliss. A season isn't more than 26 episodes right?
