If people on message boards didn't repeat unfunny jokes until they became intolerable... well, I'm not really sure what they would do instead.
Get Smart is hilarious, yes. That doesn't automatically mean referencing it is hilarious, especially when it's exactly the same reference for the three-dozenth time.
If you can, get Rise Like Lions. It's set before Disavowed. Not a Section31 story, but it will greatly add to your enjoyement of Disavowed. It did for me.
According to memory alpha that book is about the mirror universe, what does it have in common with Disavowed?
Don't make them spoil it. Just trust them—they are correct when they tell you that the story arcs of both novels are closely connected.
Just have to find a way to order your book then, for the bookstore I asked cannot at this time order it and Amazon is problematic for the Netherlands.
Maybe Book Depository is an alternative for you? http://www.bookdepository.com/Mirror-Universe-Rise-Like-Lions-David-Mack/9781451607192?ref=grid-view (P.S.: It's a part of the Amazon "universe")
I'm generally okay with threads going off topic and people having a bit of fun, but please don't keep circling back to this when other people are trying to actually discuss the topic. You're getting in the way.
I'm really sorry for resurrecting this, but I don't want to venture into the spoiler thread, because, well, spoilers. It's just shy of the six-month mark, so I'm hoping it's still OK? Just wondering if any Canadians have had any success finding this? The Chapters website seems to say it's not available in stores. (Good thing they bought up all the competition... what would we do with choice? ) I'm hoping it's "not available because there's a slight delay and will eventually be available" vs. "not available because this is the random lucky Star Trek book we just decide to never stock, for some reason".
