Section 31 Control Blurb and Cover

Looks and sounds good. There are so many directions this book can go - I'm looking forward to be surprised.

304 pages? That seems short for a Mack novel, or is that me? Well, as long as it's good, and I highly doubt it won't be. :D :D

From the comment section of @David Mack 's post about the cover when someone asked about the page count:

300+. About 92,000 words. The usual length.

Some other tidbits from there:

Regarding a question if Section 31 will become a regular series (a la DTI):
There was a four-book Section 31 miniseries about a decade ago. I pitched my previous book in the ongoing Bashir story arc as a Section 31 book; it worked well, so the sequel is under the same brand.

I have no plans to write any Section 31 novels beyond CONTROL.

Regarding the cover art:

Actually, the portrait of Bashir was created from several different photo references, and created as an original work of art by S&S art director Alan Dingman. I absolutely love what he and his team did to bring this cover to life.

As for Siddig resembling his character in "24," that works for me — this is a tale of espionage and paranoia, after all…

Not sure if #26 is Control, so he is contracted for one or two more ST novels at the moment:

I am currently writing my 26th Star Trek novel, and I have a contract to write my 27th immediately afterward.

Yeah, most likely. I totally forgot that a Titan novel was already announced, so I was figuring 27 could be a previously unannounced novel. (David wasn't obscure there, he was just answering to someone wondering if he is the most prolific ST novelist).

Wow, that is a great cover, and it fits in well with Disavowed. It does seem weird the cover for this was revealed before the other earlier 2017 books, but it's not even up yet on the S&S site, so I guess the cover was released to StarTrek.com and not everywhere at once.

I must confess that I only said that last bit because I couldn't think of any. :alienblush:

On a completely unrelated matter, why is the phrase "Section 31: Control" making me think of John Hurt?

I`m looking forward to finally reading this. I hope there will be a German version later on. It's likely, because they translate Disavowed. It's only logical to release this, too. :vulcan:
