Probably no, The Aztecs spent centuries conquering and murdering the tribes that surrounded them.Beltran thinks that Cortes annihilating the Aztecs was cool?
The Aztecs were probably normal people. It's their tyrannic rulers that are responsible, just as they are in our countries when that kind of shit happens.Probably no, The Aztecs spent centuries conquering and murdering the tribes that surrounded them.
What goes around, comes around.
Wikipedia says that Cortes defeated 300,000 Aztecs with just 6 canons.
If that doesn't scream technology-gap, nothing much else would.
I think that's what's known as an Outside-Context Problem.Wikipedia says that Cortes defeated 300,000 Aztecs with just 6 canons.

Or a Prime Directive Issue.
What's worse than extinction, dumb-ass? To die twice?
(Picard beams straight in)
PICARD: Chancellor.
DURKEN: You are punctual, Captain.
PICARD: I know how busy you are.
DURKEN: Do you? I think you know a great deal more about me than I know about you.
PICARD: In what respect?
DURKEN: You speak of trust and peace and working together to enter a new era, and at the same time you conduct secret surveillance posing as Malcorians.
PICARD: Commander Riker?
DURKEN: Commander Riker.
PICARD: Mirasta said it would be a mistake to discuss this with you.
DURKEN: Yes, she's tried to accept the responsibility.
PICARD: It was my error, not hers. Chancellor, there is no starship mission more dangerous than that of first contact. We never know what we will face when we open the door on a new world, how we will be greeted, what exactly the dangers will be. Centuries ago, a disastrous contact with the Klingon Empire led to decades of war. It was decided then we would do surveillance before making contact. It was a controversial decision. I believe it prevented more problems than it created.
DURKEN: I can appreciate the logic of your position, Captain. But it would seem a full disclosure after contact would have been in order.
PICARD: In time there would have been full disclosure. I can only ask you to believe that. On other worlds it would not be an issue. But here, everything our observers reported indicated that the people of this world would almost certainly react negatively to our arrival. We could see that even surveillance might even be interpreted as an act of aggression. I hoped that we would have found Commander Riker before you did so the matter would not complicate our introduction. It was a mistake.
DURKEN: Yes. A mistake I might have made in your place. I rather like it actually.
PICARD: Like it?
DURKEN: That you make mistakes like any man.
PICARD: Chancellor, I have made some fine ones in my time. Now, I must ask you, will you release my officer?
DURKEN: We'll talk again later, Captain.
PICARD: Enterprise, one to beam up.
"Hur'q" was a Klingon word meaning "outsider," and was the name given by the Klingons to a species from the Gamma Quadrant which invaded and plundered Qo'noS in the 14th century. Among the most valuable artifacts stolen by the Hur'q was the Sword of Kahless, that was only recovered a thousand years later, in 2372. (DS9: "The Sword of Kahless")
.....
This is likely when they got Warp?
Another one that makes me roll my eyes is in Masterpiece Society. When they help the colony of people who had left Earth so they could genetically engineer a perfect (to them) society. The colony was in danger of being wiped out by an asteroid or something similar. And then some of the colonists want to leave and see the rest of the universe. The leaders of the colony believe it will cause their society to collapse. At the end Picard is bemoaning the fact that their interference may have done as much damage as the disaster.Or in Homeward when there is that guy who kills himself and Picard says. "If we hadn't intervened, he wouldn't have died alone"
Sure, imbecile, let's kill everyone else so that one will not die alone. Because the worst thing that could happen to Picard is not people dying, it' s people dying... ALONE!

Say what you will about Kirk, but I don't think he would have been tearing himself up about things like this the way Picard does.
Yeah, because we all know that when a bunch of sword wielding barbarians meet a group of people with highly sophisticated weaponry and science. The barbarians end up stealing the technology and making computers and television sets. Yeah, that makes sense!![]()
Custer's last stand.
Captain Cook murdered by Hawaiians.
Picard vs. Q.
Oh and then this scenario.
Maybe someone was just careless and the Klingons lucked onto technology they hadn't "earned".
America left behind 40,000 Jeeps when they ran from Vietnam.
The Hur'Q are a real species from Star Trek.
It happened.
They came down, took over the Klingon home world, looted the place and left. They could have stayed for decades, or they could have stayed for hours. In Ent they claimed that the Augment Virus (that was ravaging numerous worlds) was the worst thing to Happen to the Klingons since the Hur'Q, which means that millions, maybe billions of Klingons died in conflict with the Hur'Q too.
http://memory-alpha.wikia.com/wiki/Hur'q
This was 500 years after Kahless the Unforgettable was around.
The Hur'q took the Sword from a museum.
The Nazis were fought to a stand still by French peasants, which is the the story of the Bajorans too practically... Hey remember that time Picard got shot with a crossbow in Who Watches the Watchers?
Or how about that time a prostitute (Time travelling Kira) tired to kill Gul Dukat? It's really easy to be murdered by a woman you're leveraging into being your consort. You're explaining how you'll murder her entire family, or she can lay there and pretend that she's enjoying it, and she's rationalizing that you dead in exchange for the execution of her entire family is worth it, so all she has to do is get you drunk, and wait for you to fall asleep.
Or Tera Nova where Enterprise couldn't figure out how to take out a couple 70 year olds with air rifles after they took Archer as a hostage?
Voy Basics for Fucks sake.
The Kazon take Voyager from Janeway and then cavemen almost eat her crew because she's too inhospitable to make friends with people beneath her.
