Pulaski wasn't a serious choice (but seriously, how could she not be counted as a main character?!).

But here's a ranking of the Six Doctors, from best to worst:
6. The Doctor - My gut reaction was that he'd be the worst to be treated by, due to his personality and a few odd situations. But he is supposed to be a combination of the best of medical technology up to 2371. Yeah, he was obsolete pretty quickly, and its a bit scary with the thoughts of sentience. But he *should* be better than McCoy, Bashir, and all the others combined.

5. Bashir - He's a genetically-engineered superhuman wunderkind. He might be the lowest ranking officer, but he's still far and above all the other living doctors in every way imaginable.

4. McCoy - While he was portrayed as a bit of an "old country doctor", Voyager implied that he was a serious medical mind in the 23rd century. He doesn't have the benefit of an extra century of medical knowledge (and he's only human), but being the best of the best in his own day puts him above the other three, who were never portrayed as such.

3. Crusher - She was head of Starfleet Medical for a time. This probably goes more towards her ability at bureaucracy than pure medical skill, she was still portrayed as being very talented in that field plenty of times in TNG.

2. Pulaski - Carbon copy of McCoy or no, and perhaps she was more experienced than Crusher, but I still see no evidence that puts her in the highest of elite in the medical field at the time (other than being assigned to the flagship).

1. Phlox - 22nd Century, not an expert on humans (which I am), dabbles in alternative medicine (which doesn't seem appropriate in the far future). Also promotes genocide.

Crusher, because I REALLY like redheads. Could be embarrassing.

I voted for Phlox. Too freaky, and too much weird stuff involving animals.

But I wouldn't go so far as to call him a "quack," since he has a dozen advanced degrees in hard sciences, and demonstrated his proficiency in science-based medicine on many an occasion.

Pulaski is in the poll, under "Dr. Leonard 'Bones' McCoy."

I don't see it.

I don't know who Phlonx is, but I voted the EMH, because I would want a doctor with some tact in case I get some bad news

Phlox was the Denobulan doctor on Star Trek: Enterprise.

All of these doctors are competent and caring. The poll is really "who don't you like?", so let's not dress it up as a medical issue.

Phlox, simply because he's from the earliest period of history, so the medical knowledge at his disposal is less than that of any other doctor.
The only doctor to discover a cure for Borg? It's more likely he was more advanced than his successors, but the knowledge was lost for whatever reason, maybe because later doctors didn't fancy turning their sickbay into a zoo.
(Or possibly a breakdown of relations with Denobula.)

We don't count Dear Doctor, because it was so f***ing stupid.

Pulaski, I'd be afraid she might just dissaprove of my existence on sight.....plus she reminds me of a pretty awful doctor I've seen in the past who seemed to see medicine as being a disciplinary issue

BUT as she's not an option I'll go with Phlox, who only slightly less terrifying given that he has such a reassuring smile and yet inspires such doubt as to his basic competence.

The EMH, I'd be afraid that he'd flicker out in the middle of an operation. Not to mention that it's been made apparent that he can be turned into a sadistic monster by a push of a switch.

Crusher.

Think about it, when did we ever see her do any doctoring that was above average? A standard competent doctor no doubt, but nothing out of the ordinary.

Phlox, just because I never really saw Enterprise, though what little I've seen of him in action isn't encouraging.

Also an honourable mention for Beverly 'can't cure the flu without turning the entire crew into prehistoric mutants' Crusher. Oops.
