Fear the Walking Dead Season 2 discussion and spoilers.

Yeah, I remarked to my wife while watching last night that there were a lot of commercials. Still, good episode.

I caught it half way through, sadly, so I'll have to watch it on OnDemand, but what I saw, I really liked. The decent into being a living walker was a pretty cool study. Being reduced to scavenge for food like a walker? I don't think most of us could do that. And I really liked how the episode ended. Obviously, from next week's trailer, all is not to remain as rosy as the ending depicted. Glad it's back!

- I switched between this and The LAst Ship, so I missed the cactus eating and urine drinking.

I kept thinking...the way Nick was moving..how hasn't he gotten shot yet? So many times -- and not a nick.

I really like Alejendro, but I fear soon their community will be destroyed

I really missed the other cast...especially what happened to Daniel.

Interesting on the Talking Dead how Kim Dickens Madison) said this was her favorite episode....hmmmm... what does that say?

And I agree with pevious posters... Fear the Talking Dead is really grasping for straws in talking ...not much enthusiasm.

And one last thought -- Frank Dillane needs to act with Johnny Depp and play either his son or brother

The scene was just to point out that those survival skills played out as easy in film and TV really do not work in that way.

Typical of TWD universe--Woodbury, the prison, Terminus and Shirewilt all fell. ASZ was invaded by the Wolves and walkers and will be turned into a Negan servant's quarters. There should be no reason why La Colonia will stand forever, or at least suffer a rapid loss of leadership like Grady Memorial hospital.

It could be misdirection, or perhaps the rest of the season goes in directions she does not appreciate.

The problem might be that its a lukewarm idea--what can FTWD do that TWD has not covered in zombie fiction? Also, TWD has a foundation in the comic, so there's some direction, while FTWD is just out there, trying to create its own voice, and that problem is having an effect on the audience and the performers on Talking. They seemed quiet and completely disinterested.

Hopefully, this season will leave the dysfunctional family stuff on the back burner and focus on some greater story.

Wasn't it obvious - God really, really loves him.

Video dropped out between Nick trying to drink from a cactus and a flashback with his mom so I gotta re-record the episode for that scene, but this was first episode I have felt had a real TWD level of drama to it at times, hope they keep that up. Plenty of stupidity though too, as usual. And yeah, it does seem like more commercials than content.

That happened to me to.

Sooo....

The series is trying to suggest the pharmacist is somehow surviving a bite? Considering how the parent series is ahead in the chronology, and individuals from several states / various levels of health have no luck surviving bites, how does this fit in when the future of the WD world shows no human resistance to the virus or bites that cannot be treated?

Strand and Madison...not seeing a romantic relationship, but I do see her husband returning to think the wrong thing and cause some terrible conflict.

I think the suggestion is that he cut out the area almost immediately after being bitten. Though I have no idea how you do that to a shoulder considering that giant bone section there, but that's definition the insinuation I got.

Or it's just an injury from before the apocalypse. But that seems unlikely. And equally weird.

The raining zombies part was fun, but it seems that they should have busted legs or spines at the very least after their dive which should have made them less able to get up and shamble into the hotel bar.

My question is, who the hell goes to a resort for a vacation during the apocalypse? Tobias said that reports had been coming for weeks about a new illness across five states before it hit L.A. hard. So, when people started dropping and turning, did they decide to go to Mexico and check into the hottest new resort? The hotel seemed pretty packed with people when there was a mysterious outbreak killing and reanimating people.

Did I see that right - the bar zombies suddenly started simultaneously bending at the waist with arms extended over heads in reaction to 'family' members conducting a mass chanting ceremony (including Nick) at a separate location?

ETA Nope. I was having tequila induced hallucinations.

The pharmacist is mistaken/faking it.
Yeah, faking it was what I was thinking too.

Man, I know not to expect reasonableness from gang members running a post-apocalyptic Whole Foods, but they were really harsh about that pocketed cookie that totally would have fit in the cart even with all the other stuff in there. Couldn't they just count it? It's not exactly a precise system of measurement. Not to mention, what's her name could have just let Nick put it in the cart and Nick could have not been a dumbass and just explained why he wanted it without being secretive and pocketing it.

So we loved last week's STWD that much, eh? Nothing to say about the dudebro trio?

I know I don't. Hell, it took me five days to get around to watching it... I know the show is trying, but it's still just so hard to like any of these characters, and without Daniel, Brand, or even Nick to watch this week it's not making it any easier.

So is Daniel dead? Or will he show up v to save his daughter.

In I think the Talking dead, they mentioned no plans to see Tobias again this season. He better be featured next season, or we won't see a season 4 (not that I care... they also better bring a FTWD character on season 8 of TWD, just in case of cancellation

I'm guessing that Daniel is about as alive as his daughter right now. I trust that they will be the ones to come in and save everyone, leading an army of armed Mexican gangsters to victory, 'cuz we KNOW that's how they roll.

Mark

That's true, we never actually saw Daniel die, did we? I hope he does show up.

So, based on the Pharmacist's telling of the event leading to the "miracle bite", I am guessing he was bit by the junkie kid he was trying to save and in the confusion thought it was a walker bite.
