I find it odd that they couldn't do better than a thing that says "yes" or "no". Maybe they should have asked the people that designed Stephen Hawking's interface.

Ah, maybe that's what it is. Seems like a strange time to speed-read their files, though.

Maybe that's the first opportunity they got to do that.

It's a hard call, watch Man Trap and miss Bewitched, and it might be the episode of Bewitched when Darren's boss is coming to dinner

It's funny that they have these Stonehenge things on the planet.

Ah, but it turns out that if they aired Bewitched and/or My Three Sons that particular night, they were reruns...each show started its season on September 15 that year. This bodes well for those of us who may have competition for control of the family's big-ass console television set!

At 8:30 Eastern tomorrow night I'll be watching Man Trap from a non-remastered DVD on my upstairs TV, which is a standard def model so old that I have to connect the player via coax to a little Radio Shack converter box that attaches to the VHF antenna screws. The converter introduces a just a bit of static noise to the picture.

Yes, I'm going for the full vintage '60s viewing experience.

The picture will still be superior to my first viewing 50 years earlier. That one was on a black and white set...

I suppose that after the official date, we'll discuss the episode like we were first time viewers.

Well, on My Three Sons (repeat) Ernie's visit to the circus has made a big impression; there's a lion in the yard when he and Chip camp out for a night!
Or you could watch the debate between Senators McGovern and McGee about U.S.-China relations.
Or ... the series premiere of The Tammy Grimes Show. (I hear it'll last at least four episodes!)
Hey ... what about a rerun of The Naked City where a woman is beaten up by a racketeer when she tries to collect her winnings in a numbers game.
Lots to choose from today ... in 1966.

"The Man Trap", Season 1 - Episode 1, September 8th

Tonight! Coming to a small screen near you!
The premiere of the brand new Sci-Fi extravaganza... Star Trek.

Tonight's Episode: We are introduced to captain James "Jimbo" Kirk(initial pending), his good doctor Bones "Leonard" McCoy and a redshirt in a gold shirt on a vital routine mission that turns salty real soon!
A mad doctor, a crazy monster, and Sulu's floristic escapades. All that and more!

(For an authentic 1966 experience watch it on your old broken smartphone from several meters away.)

Hey, ... what about the miniskirted yeoman in red with the tray of celery and that salt shaker driving that crewman to bite his pointer finger?
    Ooohh ... salt!

    Marsden is very sad.
I'm going to make a point to watch Man Trap tonight.
I love the show, but I've watched them all so many times, I really have a hard time picking one and 20 minutes of picking later I kind of give up, so I'm happy that you're doing this.

IMO, this story is to be taken with a grain of salt...

It's 9:45 PM in Ireland now, just got finished watching The Man Trap 15 minutes ago (perfect timing, started at 8:30, finished at 9:30).

I've been watching all of Trek for the first time since last October, so my "50th Anniversary rewatch" started a long time ago. I still forget how great TOS is though. Even after watching TNG as well as much of DS9 and VOY, I still think TOS is my favourite.

    Happy 50th Anniversary, everyone!

^Go for it, don't be afraid to spoil us! :p

    Or perhaps a salt tablet.

(Guess I'm setting for sea salt & vinegar potato chips....)
