Reading about the on demand thing and it makes me not want to pay. Name another subscription service where they do that. None of the cable channels do that (HBO, Showtime), Netflix or Amazon Prime don't. To pay for a service which will have episodes "expire" after a certain amount of time is asinine.
I'm pretty sure that the limited episodes available only applies to US and Canada, not everywhere else where netflix has the rights for.
And I get why fans in NA are not happy with the decision.
Big news: Discovery will not be bingeable:
Star Trek: Discovery will not be bingeable, but they're bundling them with a novel and comic book run? Brave leap into 1995! #StarTrekNY
It seems that CBS doesn't want that many US viewers to subscribe to All Access for only one month and then immediately cancel after binging all 13 episodes.Everything sounds great except this. Why is DSC "unbingeable"? We already knew that it's going to be released in weekly episodes. Can't someone wait and binge-watch it all at once?
I also think that Meyer had an excellent point about not letting our expectations get too sky-high and to keep an open mind.I miss appointment television. We could all use a little structure in our lives.
I think this would be awesome and keeping very much in tone with the original series. One intriguing moment came near the end. During the Q&A portion, one fan noted that since the 60s show featured a Russian in a prominent role, it might be appropriate to have a Muslim character on the show. Kirsten Beyer said that she couldn't comment on that, leading someone in the audience to comment (loudly enough for most of the audience to hear), "That's a yes."![]()

Please No! Trek tended to avoid modern religion.
I do hope to see Arab characters in the show, not sure about having a Muslim character though.
Keep in mind that this is way speculative at this point, and Beyer was responding to a fan question.Arabs yes, religious ones, no.
