Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

I guess I forgot about that, probably because no other version has even made them look like that or made them so similar. That was a stupid decision by the YJ crew, but one I obviously had forgotten about.

I figured people here would find this interesting and cool:
In an interview that Larry Teng (Season 1 co-Executive Producer and director of Human For a Day, Falling, and Better Angels) did with the podcast Supergirl TV Talk, he revealed that they'd actually filmed a shot of a dog bowl emblazoned with the name Krypto that was cut from the 15th episode of Season 1, Solitude, when James and Kara visited the eponymous Fortress of Solitude, indicating that Krypto already exists in the universe of the series (which should appeal to the people who wanted Krypto to be the one in the pod at the end of Better Angels).

The Silver Age comics did. Though the White Martians wore more clothes than J'Onn.

Fair enough. The first time I remember seeing White Martians was in Morrison's JLA, I didn't think about them being a silver age thing (I'm not super familiar with MM's solo stuff).

It was in JLA.
It's funny how many websites credit Morrison with creating the White Martians.

I hope he makes an appearance one day.

Now, in Season Two, Kara has left the safety of being Cat Grant’s assistant in order to figure out what she really wants to do, while as Supergirl she continues to work at the DEO, protecting the citizens of National City and searching for Jeremiah and Cadmus. Along the way, she will team up with Superman (Tyler Hoechlin) to battle new villains, as she strives to balance her personal life with her life as a superhero.

This is the official Supergirl season 2 synopsis released by CW. I don't know if you guys/gals discussed it or not but does it imply that Superman will stay around for more than a couple of episodes?

Well, that photo drives home the fact that they're in Vancouver now, because the Bloedel Conservatory dome is a very familiar sight.

I expect he'll be a recurring character, but not a regular. Or maybe this is just promotional hype, playing up the fact that Superman is featured at the start of the season. The job of advertising is to put an appealing spin on things, not to report them with scholarly accuracy.

Seeing those two together is pretty awesome.
As long as he's in more than one episode, wouldn't that technically make him recurring?
I don't think they've really given a definite yes or no about if he'll appear beyond the episodes he's been announced for so far. The impression I've gotten is that he will definitely be appearing in those episodes, but they haven't decided one way or the other about episodes later into the season.

It was officially confirmed that Superman is in the first two episodes of the season when he was cast. It would be very odd for him to never appear again after that. The assumptions that he needs to be permanently written off or killed off are based the same false assumptions that he couldn't ever appear on the show when it started.

Not sure if this has been shared. One of the producers revealed in a recent interview that plan for the first season was for Superman to fully appear in the season finale. That only changed because they had so many other plot points to cover when they reached it. So they held it to season 2.

I suspect that what will happen now is they will use him whenever they feel it is nessasary. The hard work of casting and costume design is done now. They will not announce their plans for him in advance. But is that surprising? They rarely do that far out for tv series in general.

Completely agree. Even if he's not the focus of the show, I find it hard to believe they will only use him twice. If they didn't want him to be an active part of the show, they would have just continued to have the Boots of Steel and Supersilhouette.
