Well, it depends. "Prometheus" is a standalone trilogy. However the events that take place during "The Fall" will be discussed a lot by the characters and we show the first days in office of the new president. So you could classify "Prometheus" as direct follow-up to "The Fall".

And, yes, we have very small links to "Takedown" and the "Prey" trilogy. But it's indeed more a mentioning of an event or a character, it has nothing to do with the storylines. (Since "Takedown" was already published and "Prey" was written at the same time as "Prometheus".)

Also the Borg invasion is mentioned on several occasions, because Adams fought over Vulcan (David Mack mentioned the Prometheus in "Destiny: Lost Souls", however not her captain, so we took the liberty to asume it was Adams). And we visit the new DS9.

It sounds like a smorgasbord of events then.

But what came first, the story or the word/page count?
That's difficult to say. I mean if you pitch a story on two pages it could be anything in the end: one book, a trilogy or a series. In this case Cross Cult wanted a trilogy, so Christian and I started to plan for a trilogy. But even then there could've been 300 page books or 500 page books. So we had a the first draft of a storyline and a rough estimate on how big the project would be and then we worked with this information. And before we finally started writing we had a pretty solid plan what we wanted to write and why we wanted to write the scenes that are in the books. So it's a story based on a rough page count based on the demands of a publisher based on a story idea. :)

I really want to read this, but I'm guessing it would take less time for me just to wait for the English-language versions to be released, than it would for me to attempt to learn German! ;)

Thank you, this is really helpful!

They also still have the wrong version of The Fall #1 on their website.
I should inform you that the German books sometimes look utterly different from the English books. I'll show you a compilation of books I have at home, when I get home.

THough I can share this already:

note, I don't have my English language books here just yet, they are still at my mother's stuck in a box.

I am jealous! I only started collecting last september based on the few books I could find in ordinary stores. Only half a year after having moved to Leipzig did I find comic shops which also sold books. I am most Jealous indeed!

I have the advantage of having collected ST novels since late 2012. Don't worry, in 3 years you will have catched up.

Welcome to Leiptzsch, Vnix! I used to live there. Hope you order the books online. When I ordered mine at a local book store, I needed to spell "Star Trek" every time...

English translation for those who don't speak German:
Unfortunately I no-longer live in Leipzig, I moved to Groningen in the Netherlands, though I fell in love with the city and as such will try to find a way back there. Funnilly enough people now mistake me for a German, a native Leipziger, because of my accent.
Also, I know the problems with English there, though one can go to either of two comicshops where there is always star trek on hand. Even the main train station always has some when coming through, in Ludwig's.

Yes I know, this is shameless advertising for the one and only, the best ever, bookshop in Groningen, since he's got the next installment for Star Trek Prometheus there!! I'm saying Tschüß to the Library and run to get my new book! Have fun reading y'all!

Since I cannot seem to find a way to eddit my previous post
That's because you're still a Newbie. After a couple of posts you'll get red shirt status and the ability to edit your posts. Before that you'll have to go through a hell lot of proof reading.

Ah. Well I wanted to add a new development and not have a double post but ah well. Could be worse. Anyway
