I'm glad these books will be translated into English I hope they'll come out as paperback books.:techman:

Though there is a reference to the Warp-Speed Classic Vaudeville Company from Enterprise: The First Adventure. I have no idea how to reconcile this.
Where is the problem? Is there any modern novel that supercedes these events? We found no evidence of this (of course we might have missed something), so we thought it might be fun to have some very small references to Star Trek books and shows from all decades. (After all STP is meant to be a "50th anniversary trilogy".)

I think it was totally unnecessary to try to shoehorn large parts of the Star Trek opening monologue into the narrative.
Again: "50th anniversary trilogy". Our intention was to beginn with a TOS-like opening text, not only because it's a classic element of "Star Trek", but also because our adventure begins during the 2260s. So, yes, we used two sentences from the opening monologue. (Funny enough "Star Trek Beyond" also ends with these famous words. So we are not the only ones who are fond of them. ;) )

I don't know if @ryan123450 wants to include this novel in his post-Nemesis timeline but from the chapter headings the timeline seems to be:
Chapter 1-3 take place on October 29th, at roughly the same time as Lust's Latinum Lost (and Found) and between Peacable Kingdoms chapter 38 and epilogue. The rest takes place between 1st and 16th November, at the same time as Absent Enemies and The Light Fantastic as well as before Takedown and The Missing as those are set in "late" November.

I haven't read the book yet as my local store hasn't got it yet but I'm hoping to get tomorrow.

I probably will, especially once the English version comes out. I'm glad it has a very precise timeline.

Without spoiling anything else, can anyone tell me if the EMH Mark 2 from "Message in a Bottle" plays into the story at all? I always loved that one-off character.
I was hoping that EMH Mark 2 would return and while I haven't read the book yet the appendix lists a "EMH-II (EMH-XI)" called "Doctor Trik" as a crewmember. I guess that means yes. So every, rejoice!

Loved it, and can't wait for the sequel. The characters are fun, and it's great to read about the Prometheus, and to explore a new corner of the galaxy.

Spotted no typos either, and only one discontinuity:
At one point, Spock says he was the only Vulcan in Starfleet in 2266. It's an old trope I haven't come across since Inception, but there are numerous Vulcan Starfleet officers in that period, like the nurse on the Endeavour (VAN: Harbinger), and Lt. Commander T'Prynn.

I don't think we need the spoiler tags as this is a spoiler thread, but we als had the USS Intrepid two years later fully crewed by Vulcans, so some of them must have worked their way up the ranks.

I'm currently "burning" through The Fall, having read A Ceremony of Losses in only one day (which I did only once previously, with the last Vanguard book, pretty much exactly two years ago in a veery long traffic jam on our way to Spain) and hoping the do the same with The Poisened Chalice. And if everything works as planned I'll read Peaceable Kingdoms and Lust's Latinum Lost (And Found) tomorrow. *Looks at timeline* Then there are Absent Enemies and the early and mid November chapters of The Light Fantastic. Does anyone know when exactly these two are set? Or do the authors of Prometheus maybe have any siggestions how the exact timeline of these books could be? :) As Feuer gegen Feuer spans pretty much the complete first half of November it seems unlikely that Absent Enemies and the early The Light Fatastic chapters are set before Feuer gegen Feuer, they are probably run concurrently.

Could someone post the crew list?
It'd be my pleasure:
From the appendix:
1. The crew of the U.S.S. Prometheus
1.1 Alpha-shift
CO: Captain Richard Adams
First Officer/Tactical: Commander Roaas
Helm/Pilot: Lieutenant Jassat ak Namur
Second Officer/OPS: Lieutenant Commander Sarita Carson
Communication: Ensign Paul Winter
Security Chief/Environmental control (?): Lieutenant Commander Lenissa zh'Thiin
Technical station: Lieutenant Chell
Chief Engineer: Lieutenant Commander Jenna Winona Kirk
Chief Scientific Officer: Lieutenant Commander Mendon
Chief Medical Officer: Doctor Geron Barai
1.2 Other crewmembers
'CO' of the Beta-shift: Lieutenant Commander Senok
'CO'of the Gamma-shift: Lieutenant Shantherin th'Talias
Secondary (?) Security Chief: Lieutenant John Paxon
Secondary (?) Chief Engineer: Lieutenant Tabor Resk
Secondary (?) CMO: Lieutenant Commander Maddy Calloway
Transport Officer: Chief Wilorin
Counselor: Isabelle Courmont
Barkeeper: Multiplayer Online Battle Arena
EMH-II (EMH-XI): Doctor Trik.

The name Geron Barai sounds familiar to me. Isn't that a user from the German Memory Beta? Or did he/she get that name from another popular source that I don't know?

Since Absent Enemies and the early The Light Fatastic take place in very different parts of the Federation space, it is not neccessary to establish an exact timeline. Feuer gegen Feuer takes place immediately after The Fall and before Takedown or The Missing. (There are some small references at the end of book 3 to Takedown.) So I would say the Data story, the Titan story and the Quark e-book novella take place at the same time as Feuer gegen Feuer. It's a big universe after all. :)

8of5 and I are working on a flowchart update, and we'd like to add Prometheus. On our flowchart, black arrows indicate directly following up on a specific storyline, and dotted green arrows indicate books that provide background knowledge. I assume that since this is a new series, there shouldn't be any black arrows, right - this doesn't finish up any storylines begun in other Treklit?

And after that, what novels provide background knowledge worth mentioning? Does this refer to the Fall, for instance, or Destiny, or Takedown, etc?

I haven't read the first one yet, but Destiny is always a good background knowledge. Prometheus is a follow-up to The Fall and at the end of book three there is a mentioning of Takedown (as Bernd Perplies was so kind to tell us :) ). Also the Prey trilogy will reference the Prometheus trilogy in some way. I'd assume something like "Captain Adams found something similar in the Lembatta Cluster" or a "I was kust reading Captain Adams log entrys. Very intersting stuff."

Well, it depends. "Prometheus" is a standalone trilogy. However the events that take place during "The Fall" will be discussed a lot by the characters and we show the first days in office of the new president. So you could classify "Prometheus" as direct follow-up to "The Fall".

And, yes, we have very small links to "Takedown" and the "Prey" trilogy. But it's indeed more a mentioning of an event or a character, it has nothing to do with the storylines. (Since "Takedown" was already published and "Prey" was written at the same time as "Prometheus".)

Also the Borg invasion is mentioned on several occasions, because Adams fought over Vulcan (David Mack mentioned the Prometheus in "Destiny: Lost Souls", however not her captain, so we took the liberty to asume it was Adams). And we visit the new DS9.
