Right, but behind the scenes concerning the evolution of the project...like CBS and Fuller knew that they would be doing a show 10 years before TOS long before they announced it. Axanar had received momentum already online which left CBS in the lurch thus causing them to start a lawsuit to prevent it moving forward as it would contradict their ideas and story where Discovery is concerned.^Fuller has stated that Discovery won't be featuring the Battle of Axanar.
This is important. Let's not allow Alec Peters the ability to claim he was only penalised because of the similar time periods, or worse that CBS stole his idea. They closed down Axanar for egregious violations of their IP rights. Period.
He will spin it that way anyway...:sighs:This is important. Let's not allow Alec Peters the ability to claim he was only penalised because of the similar time periods, or worse that CBS stole his idea.
Agreed! I am not trying to incite anything or substantiate anything, just curious as to if there was any "talk" on the matter. This is important. Let's not allow Alec Peters the ability to claim he was only penalised because of the similar time periods, or worse that CBS stole his idea.
I hope the production designs [sets, props] and uniforms do reflect "The Cage" since it is set in the prime universe ten years before Kirk.Concerned about the look will not fit the Cage. It could be worse if we see the Enterprise and it does not meet my expectations.
"redefining the visual style of Star Trek" won't be sitting well with a segment of the longtime TOS fans
I hope most would be very excited though!

Jesus! So the #StarTrek franchise ends with Nemesis? Can we stop with the prequels and actually have a Next Next Generation? @BryanFuller
@TheAVClub @BryanFuller I love everything I'm hearing about #StarTrekDiscovery except the era it's in. Why not push farther into the future?
all good things...
