I saw the original post (and left a comment for Jason to grumble over - though I'm still blocked from all his things :p) but not found out exactly what happened yet.

Ridiculous to see yet another burned by the Masters of show :(

Let me know if you find out what happened. Would love to know the skinny.

I'm assuming Biehn and his missus won't be gracing any more of Joiner's events after publicly sticking the knife in to him. Such a shame for Joiner. . . Biehn was one of the bigger names in his little black book.

He directs a lot of TV. I mean, a lot.

Noticed today that George Takei has been parachuted in as the top tier guest in group D of the Captain's package photoshoots. This leaves the top tier guest in group E empty. I suspect that as Walter Koenig is the only guest not to have his price revealed, and that his status is equal to Takei's, that he will be revealed late on in the day as the Group E top tier £35+ guest, and that there will be no further headline guest announcements, which of course means no other Captains. Appalling, but entirely expected. I wish I felt sorry for the few suckers who've spent money on this event, but they only have themselves to blame.

Seems to be some rumour going around about a date change. Nothing more than what was put on the Shitemasters forum. The thread was, unsurprisingly, shut down by the comfortable shoe wearing Nazi.

Date change or no date change, this event seem to be all but dead in the water.

For anyone still interested in this event, Linda Park has cancelled. Will be interesting to see how long it takes Shitemasters to say anything.

May I assume you're simply curious as to why this poster has such negative feelings toward this event?

Just asking "what is your problem?" may not be the greatest way to spark conversation....

He seems to have a particular hatred for the individuals organising the event and others of it's type, so was mere curiosity.

People now making the assumption that Frakes and McNeill will also be cancelling as Frakes will directing on McNeill's TV show, a job which starts "in a couple of months".

The punters are not happy bunnies on Facebook, and pointed comments are being made.

I expect this event will be cancelled.

Doesn't look like we're going to find out. A shame as I am also curious.

People at Vegas reporting on FB that RDM has said he's unlikely to be at DSTE.

Having met one of the orginisers, and read the emails he sent to my wife, I can take an educated guess ;)

Bit odd them announcing Park's withdrawl three days after she did. But knowing their people, not terribly surprising. Hopefully RDM and Frakes make it. It'd be a real shame for the only Trek 50th gig to go down as a disaster

In the days before FB and Twitter, Joiner used to make mass guest cancellations 3 or 4 days before an event, having of course known about these cancellations for weeks, and in some cases, months. But now with any actor worth their salt having social media, Joiner now can't get away with it, and he has to announce cancellations in a timely manner, which of course he's not at all happy about because it means he has to refund people for photoshoots BEFORE he's run the event. A lot of the time, he simply doesn't have the money, as he's constantly shown over the years with incessant foot dragging over giving punters their money back.

My money's on Joiner knowing about Park's cancellation before she announced it. He was just hoping she wasn't going to go public.

She cancelled on sunday and their was no one in their office. And since most people already knew she cancelled anyway, It would of been unprofessional of them to announce her cancellation without first contacting her agent for official conformation of that.

It looks that way doesn't it. It's probably a really small and massively petty reason for the level of hatred on display given @Admiral Bear hasn't answered yet.

    I assume you're still going?

Let's keep this about the post, not the poster, please. Accusations about the poster are crossing that line.
