Sean Hargreaves has said he will be posting pictures of it in the coming weeks.I wish we get more info on the A soon enough, as I think that there is a lot of curiosity for the design and people seem to like it quite a bit
I am interested in seeing whether if/how they change the interior sets. Personally I'm perfectly happy for them to retain the existing bridge design as it's grown on me over the last seven years, but it'd still be cool to see if they take the opportunity to revamp or redecorate it somehow.
One problem I have with NuTrek is that they don't show too much of the ship's interior other than the usual places such as Engineering, Sick bay, Transporter room and of course the bridge....

I for one would've loved to see other parts of the ship such as Kirk/Spock quarters, recreation room etc. It would just add more depth and scale to the ship and make it feel like its a home away from home on screen. Probably too much to ask to show all that in a single movie, but they could've shown parts of the ship across two to three movies. They did that with the Ent-E. Showing more parts of the ship that were never seen before with each movie through FC, Insurrection and Nemesis..

There are quite a few changes actually. The most notable for most people are the smaller, rounder nacelles with the TSO era style caps. For me, the more beveled saucer is a huge difference.I didn't notice any differences when I was watching the film. I'd hoped the ship would have had some big changes.
I think I was hoping too much for an almost straight/mildly updated version of the TOS Enterprise, at least with the copper deflector dish. There are quite a few changes actually. Loved the video, the engineering section is now more akin to what we see in Next Generation which is a good thing, even though I didn't mind the brewery.Apparently you didn't realize how many new interiors we saw in Beyond, including a whole new engineering section (not a brewery).
Quite a few of the new areas are seen in this short FX documentary:

I was hoping the A would be the size of the Vengeance.
A pity they have to create massive "boss battle" bruiser ships.
I much preferred two equally matched vessels trying to outwit each other.
Star Trek was always best as Master and Commander - that's its style.
I've personally never liked unfeeling swarms - it is a massively over-used trope - usually a faceless enemy you couldn't care less about - loved by some video games for obvious reasons.
That said, I loved Beyond; even a bad trope can be written/directed well, and linked to a good plot.
BasI personally like it most when the battle is a battle of wits between equal opponents - two of Star Trek's most famous battles were like that - Balance of Terror and The Wrath of Khan. When your enemy has admirable traits, and character of it's own, thats when villains are best. A battle of ships is really a battle of characters, their differing flaws, and very interpersonally dramatic.
Stakes have never been important - but the audience's emotional reactions are - so having a character you can sympathise with on each end of the fight, is very effective. You can always link the outcome of their battle to high stakes if you want.
The Enterprise crew were always at their best when they are against the odds facing unfamiliar threats. Think V'ger, the Doomsday machine, a deranged Romulan 120+ years from the future, M5 and the Whale probe.
Krall's swarm makes another addition to the list above. And as Spock commented during engagement, the Enterprise was not prepared to deal with anything like that. Re-visiting familiar enemies and familiar ships sucker punching the Enterprise adds nothing that we haven't got from the prime universe.
If we look at 'The Balance of Terror', which a great episode because of the thought that went into the mindset of the Romulan 'villains', it should be treated as a great standalone episode and was important for the development of TOS series universe at the time.
As for TWOK, we have 2 TWOKs (if we count STID).
Having Kirk getting into a chin stroking battle situation battle does nothing new (we all know Kirk is cunning and can handle situations), there is no need to play that broken record and it is certainly not what the franchise is about.
This is Star Trek, not Space Battle Tactics Masterclass.
