You mean sonic pulse? Maybe, but they are pretty much destroyed at this point. To prevent attacks from swarm ships, I wonder if the A and future Starfleet ships are equipped with pulse weapons

Wasn't the original Enterprise capable of picking up AM and FM frequencies in TOS, too?Well, they all will be equipped with FM radios and Jayla's iPod playlist. That's for sure.
Which incidentally would render the inevitable V'Ger problem trivial. XD
it had a five-year mission (sorta)....I wish the Enterprise was able to finish it's five year mission before being destroyed.
Consider this: TOS was on air for 1022 days ((66-69) and this mission was on it's 966 day on deep space when kirk started doubting himself + days before the attack. So there were at least 54 days away from having TOS' duration!
Maybe I'm unrealistic, but one of the very few disappointments that I had in the movie was that I was hoping the new Enterprise would be the classic or motion picture refit version. I was thinking It would be one more nod to the 50th anniversary
I still cant believe they didn't at least do the movie I-VI nacelles. was totally expecting the A to look very similar to the old style movie Ent. when it was finally built I was 'uh? its the same as before?!' (then again that happened in 1986 so maybe that in itself is a homage)
Those flat nacelles didn't come about for another decade in the Original Timeline, and we don't know if they will now.
I did have that warm fuzzy feeling when I saw the Ent-A being constructed, a very nice evolution of the Connie class.
