Spoilers Spoiler-ish Q&A - Star Trek Beyond

Any truth to the rumor that a major character dies (asking this question realizing you may choose not to answer it)?

Would you say that STBeyond has the most TOS feeling of all the movies? I think I read something like that?

I guess the answer is yes. If you liked the opening scenes of both 2009 and STiD, both of which had a "strange new worlds, strange new life forms..." TOS flavour, then I'm sure you will find plenty of that in the new movie. There is lots of footage that has not been leaked or even hinted at yet. Some amazing visuals and humorous quips, many of which reminded me of TOS (and TNG's "Encounter at Farpoint").

Keep in mind that my favourite Treks are ST:TMP and the 2009 movie (almost equally), and I was a big supporter of TNG from the beginning. I didn't mind STiD at all, and my only niggle with it is that we were told several times that Cumberbatch was definitely not playing Khan.

I probably would have loved the "Phase II" that begat TMP, too. Also, "Beyond" is a feature film, not a TV series, so it's only going to be as TOS as perhaps the "smaller" movies. ST III? Of course, fans who detested JJ's films from every angle will probably not have the patience for this one, but we don't recall seeing even one lens flare last Thursday (not that they ever worried me).

Joe Taslim confirmed on twitter that he is the character below (trailer 3). He is shooting in 3 red shirts.

I like this post...it's exciting.

I haven't missed anything - I've just chosen not to answer certain questions.
Fair enough.
In case this one is ok...
You mentioned earlier that the movie explores the effect on Spock of certain developments regarding Spock Prime. What about effects on other characters? Do we get to see any of that?

Last year there were rumours about three major female roles in the movie, an alien character, the president of the Federation and Bone's ex-wife.
The alien was later confirmed as Sophia Boutella's role and Shohreh Aghdashloo is listed in the IMDb page as playing "High Command of the Federation". So that's two things the rumors got right. My question is: is there a third?

Uhura?

Andy, is Michael Giacchino's main theme that was prominently present in the first two films also the dominant main theme in Beyond?
