aww s@$#, man. This just makes me sad on so many levels.David Gerrold & Richard Hatch I could care less about.............I think I might've just lost respect for JG Hertzler though........ (#wakeup man!)

-I get that he likes/believes in it and/or the production and a true destiny he perceives it to be. I support that point of view being valid to him.
-I don't get a movie about a war and 'demonstrating' that is being a tribute to anything Mr. R -ever- had in mind for his universe. Mr. R didn't even like The Wrath of Khan.
-This is a really lovely turn of a phrase though: "Now is the time to take a fork in the road of destiny. Turn to the "right brain world of true creativity", new ideas... boldly go where no man or woman has gone before."
But to me it's a phrase without substance on any level I can think of pertaining to this proposed independent Star Trek film just by itself and excluding anything else surround this production.
-"This is a time to CREATE!" --- love that.
On the other hand:
-"Bring the best minds of sci fi and storytelling together"
Okay, please elaborate on who these best minds are, Sir, because I can't just take you at your word that these best minds in sci fi & storytelling are involved in anyway whatsoever or even interested in being involved with this production. Exactly who are these best minds you speak of?
-"to launch this epic starship adventure into new worlds and new civilizations"
So, okay, what 'new' worlds? What 'new' civilization? The Vulcans? The Andorians? The Axanar? The Klingons? The Federation? Where are you going with this, Sir?
-"We have a collective mind of nearly 10,000 brains and hearts...."
uhhh, I'm not sure about that number at all. I'll stipulate something maybe approaching somewhat close to that number long ago, but even that number is now in dispute as being donations made rather than that many unique donors. I mean, if that's where this information is coming from, and all. Besides, many of us cannot be included in those numbers anymore because, you know, we don't think this project is on the up and up anymore. Not to mention being thrown out for questions or complaints. I mean, what's up with that, Sir?
Likewise, some of the previous actors also don't think this production is on the up and up. Excluding you of course, Sir. And most to almost all of the PtA production team that made that film what it was are gone and not returning because of what they saw and Experienced going on.
--"a truly creative adventure"
Now where are you going here? Putting Star Trek into the hands of fans who love it? Just for a minute let's DO invoke the name and intentions for this Universe of Mr. R. who said, himself, in public, recorded on video, at a convention, --- that to put Star Trek into the hands of the fans would be ludicrous. (<- I paraphrase here) "It would be shit" (<- I believe I'm accurately or really close to accurately quoting him here)
--"that can set the powers that be on their collective ear"
<sigh>
--"There is a giant door opening for us all"
Wait. This can't have been written recently.
--"there are thousands of us out here who believe!"
Stipulated
--"Go with the BELIEVERS!"
We're sort of drifting here, Sir. We're approaching the point where the intellect can be, um, subverted from processing factual data.
--"Push the naysayers aside and leave them on the roadside of history that no one remembers."
So, what, you're wanting this done to 'me who has been devoted to Star Trek since September 8, 1966? And, I might add, has loved your ST work and paid you some big bucks just to stand still for, literally, a few seconds to have my picture taken with you and later to have you autograph it? Taking on the outside maybe a total of 90 seconds of your time for both? And you're advocating I be pushed aside & left on the roadside of history nobody remembers? And, btw, I am actually a donor and was supporter of this production until, you know, I started looking into what was going on there.
I'm not wanting... Promoting... that anything of the sort should be done to you - even though we have an entirely different take on what's going on with this production.
WTH, Sir?
