David Gerrold & Richard Hatch I could care less about.............I think I might've just lost respect for JG Hertzler though........ (#wakeup man!)

aww s@$#, man. This just makes me sad on so many levels.

-I get that he likes/believes in it and/or the production and a true destiny he perceives it to be. I support that point of view being valid to him.
-I don't get a movie about a war and 'demonstrating' that is being a tribute to anything Mr. R -ever- had in mind for his universe. Mr. R didn't even like The Wrath of Khan.
-This is a really lovely turn of a phrase though: "Now is the time to take a fork in the road of destiny. Turn to the "right brain world of true creativity", new ideas... boldly go where no man or woman has gone before."

But to me it's a phrase without substance on any level I can think of pertaining to this proposed independent Star Trek film just by itself and excluding anything else surround this production.

-"This is a time to CREATE!" --- love that.
On the other hand:
-"Bring the best minds of sci fi and storytelling together"

Okay, please elaborate on who these best minds are, Sir, because I can't just take you at your word that these best minds in sci fi & storytelling are involved in anyway whatsoever or even interested in being involved with this production. Exactly who are these best minds you speak of?

-"to launch this epic starship adventure into new worlds and new civilizations"

So, okay, what 'new' worlds? What 'new' civilization? The Vulcans? The Andorians? The Axanar? The Klingons? The Federation? Where are you going with this, Sir?

-"We have a collective mind of nearly 10,000 brains and hearts...."

uhhh, I'm not sure about that number at all. I'll stipulate something maybe approaching somewhat close to that number long ago, but even that number is now in dispute as being donations made rather than that many unique donors. I mean, if that's where this information is coming from, and all. Besides, many of us cannot be included in those numbers anymore because, you know, we don't think this project is on the up and up anymore. Not to mention being thrown out for questions or complaints. I mean, what's up with that, Sir?

Likewise, some of the previous actors also don't think this production is on the up and up. Excluding you of course, Sir. And most to almost all of the PtA production team that made that film what it was are gone and not returning because of what they saw and Experienced going on.

--"a truly creative adventure"
Now where are you going here? Putting Star Trek into the hands of fans who love it? Just for a minute let's DO invoke the name and intentions for this Universe of Mr. R. who said, himself, in public, recorded on video, at a convention, --- that to put Star Trek into the hands of the fans would be ludicrous. (<- I paraphrase here) "It would be shit" (<- I believe I'm accurately or really close to accurately quoting him here)

--"that can set the powers that be on their collective ear"
<sigh>
--"There is a giant door opening for us all"

Wait. This can't have been written recently.

--"there are thousands of us out here who believe!"
Stipulated
--"Go with the BELIEVERS!"
We're sort of drifting here, Sir. We're approaching the point where the intellect can be, um, subverted from processing factual data.

--"Push the naysayers aside and leave them on the roadside of history that no one remembers."

So, what, you're wanting this done to 'me who has been devoted to Star Trek since September 8, 1966? And, I might add, has loved your ST work and paid you some big bucks just to stand still for, literally, a few seconds to have my picture taken with you and later to have you autograph it? Taking on the outside maybe a total of 90 seconds of your time for both? And you're advocating I be pushed aside & left on the roadside of history nobody remembers? And, btw, I am actually a donor and was supporter of this production until, you know, I started looking into what was going on there.

I'm not wanting... Promoting... that anything of the sort should be done to you - even though we have an entirely different take on what's going on with this production.

WTH, Sir?

"I am with you"... as long as you don't demand your money back... 'cause a non trek project with no money and no studio and only a bunch of believers in Roddenberry as warlord, embodied in Alec, isn't workable...

I've been thinking about just making Axanar. Throw a script together, gather a few friends and film in front of a green screen. Be first to the finish line to just take Axanar away from him, done solely for spite. Still contemplating.

I had the same idea. You should do it. I'm too busy.

Same here! I just don't know anyone that's interested in making fan films, and I'm not much of a writer. Go for it Tom!

Actually, I am curious to know now what would happen if someone made their own Axanar fan film? One that had nothing to do with Alec Peters' take on Axanar and that was its own original story.

Well he doesn't own Axanar, and I'm not sure how much he can trademark it. I'd probably change the name to "The Battle Of Axanar" or something since he'll probably cry about it.

These are the words of someone who's career is dead. It's a fucking fan film dipshit, nothing more. Shatner's "Get A Life!" comment has never been more appropriate.

I'm really dissapointed to see JG Hertzler still supports Axanar. I really hope it's just due to a lack of awareness of just how bad what's going on with it really is.
I'm starting to wonder if maybe AP has a big folder of blackmail material or something, because at this point it's about the only explanation I can come up with for why so many people would still be supporting him like this.
AP really is just delusional if he thinks any of this is going to end in his favor. The only thing him and his people are going to be doing after Axanar is looking for real jobs. Not to say that making movies isn't a real job, just that what they're doing now isn't.
So the cat is one of the individuals in charge of "donor relations"? That explains a lot.

If he doesn't start taking his meds again soon we're going to find him under a park bench saying stuff like. "The CIA ferrets, man! They put microphones in your nose holes, but I outsmarted 'em--I stopped wearing pants! Now the gorilla accountants will never find me! Beware tollbooth attendants with extra feet!"

My god, Hertzler, this is a fan film that's been lining the pockets of the corrupt man behind it, not a religious or political movement. What a blowhard.

It seems a bit like they are trying in steps to PR-shepherd the donors and public perception into believing they funded an independent studio that produces what the donors want, not that they funded a Star Trek film. Then any attempt to take away the studio will face donors who think they personally are being robbed. Troops, rally, we can do this, it may be something else, but its our money by god and we can decide to do what we want with it, we are driven by true vision, its mine [I mean] ours!

Can the studios put any sort of kibosh on using the potentially stolen resources to make further money while the lawsuit proceeds?

Posting this mainly for the last part
I see this:
--> [lMG] <--

I'm seeing rather a lot of --> [lMG] <-- being posted.

Is there a picture there? Something else?

EDIT: Well, for heck's sake. My post will not even post the top one I put under 'I see this'. I'm changing it to lower case letter l, then MG to see if that will post.

EDIT: Okay, that went through but now the second one has disappeared. Changing 'that' one to lower case letter l, then MG.

EDIT: Okay. That went through.

So can anyone tell me what these letters [lMG] I see being posted are? And if they are pictures or something, explain to me how I can see them too

I can usually see all images from my home computer, but if I check from a network that has nanny-bots blocking a ton of sites, I get the image tag instead, too.

they are this board's code for embedding an image url.

by any chance do you have any javascript blockers running? that might keep the board from rendering the link.

Good suggestion. I've unblocked everything but it makes no change. But only this one pic and one a zillion pages back in this thread are inaccessible for viewing, clicking, or seeing the html/bbcode if I use Reply to look at them.

Since it doesn't seem to be a java block or any of the other blockers I use.... this nanny-bot thing looks to be a likely explanation.

Thanks for the help & suggestions guys. (RedForman, Sgt_G, & muCephi) Movin' on.
