I think Enterprise already did.
A different title might help. I don't AP could sqwawk much given his will never see the light of day.
Two 15 minute parts. I already have the outline idea for how to do it. We're going to be Jummpin' time, certain events told in snippets. I actually almost have the outline done. You want to try to tell the whole thing in two 15 minute parts? Or push the limits of tolerance by telling it in two 30 minute parts while adhering to all the other guidelines? (You could probably get away with that based on my impression of listening to JVC talk)
You know this is part of the sad irony of AP's Axanar. Telling the story in something of a documentary style could have worked. Prelude To Axanar could have served as the template. And this approach has ben used before. It's been used in Babylon 5, Stargate SG-1 and M*A*S*H to name but a few. It was also used to excellent effect in History Television's The Great Martian War.
I was thinking about that, who would serve me first with a C&D, AP or CBS.Do you think Peters might try and stop someone because of trademark infringement?

David Gerrold & Richard Hatch I could care less about.............I think I might've just lost respect for JG Hertzler though........ (#wakeup man!)

I had the same idea. You should do it. I'm too busy.I've been thinking about just making Axanar. Throw a script together, gather a few friends and film in front of a green screen. Be first to the finish line to just take Axanar away from him, done solely for spite. Still contemplating.

"Might've"? Yeah, I lost respect for him the other several times he publicly threw his weight behind the project (and, implicitly, against the studio hands that fed him and gave him the sole reason he is still able to charge for a signature at conventions.)
(No undue offense intended - but, let's face it - the cast of Axanar is, by and large, composed of people who networked with each other during slow periods at their autograph tables in the hopes of having a real, paying acting job to tide them over between conventions.)

I am, would welcome a co-writer if you have any available time.I had the same idea. You should do it. I'm too busy.

Translation:I can't help but think a lot of this could've been avoided if this shyster actually held down an honest job (instead of concocting this wildly elaborate scheme to fund his personal fantasy)...............

"I keep telling Erin Ranahan to repeat to the W&S lawyers that JJ Abrams said "the suit is going away"; which ,means I should get whatever settlement terms I want which are (in part):
1) To keep my studio that I worked hard for and got the funds for because my supporters realize I'm the only person on the planet who can make "True Star Trek"; because after watching a group of true and talented professional do it once for me on Prelude to Axanar; I'm a true expert in the nuances of Hollywood production - or to put it more simply a "Producer by Training". Oh and Christian Gossett didn't really do anything of Prelude that wasn't 100% approved by me first; and assisted with by RMB - I just said Christian was the Director because we WERE friends at the time.
2) For CBS/Paramount to give me and open ended and permanent (IE no renewal required) License to use the Star Trek IP however I please because again, I'm the ONLY person who understands "True Star Trek"...."
Translation:
All kidding aside, it's clear now Alec Peters is somehow deluded enough that he thinks he'll get a settlement that allows him to basically keep everything and do what he wants - and I truly believe he's trying to play the "JJ Abrams said..." card and getting nowhere. C/P are going to stay on good terms with JJ Abrams/Bad Robot - because I'm sure even Mr. Abrams believed Alec Peters was reasonable and would accept a reasonable settlement - which it's pretty clear by Alec Peters Facebook post, he won't. Result: Paramount will go to JJ Abrams/Justin Lin and say "Hey, we really tried to settle as we told you we would; but this guy is a lunatic..."
So, yeah, the case will probably go to Trial in January - and Alec Peters will experience what receiving a real punitive judgment from a Jury is like. Alec peters is probably convinced he can get a Jury to find for him; but that isn't going to happen in this case.
Yes, even after having a big name creative team go to bat to get C/P to offer settlement terms; Alec peters is (like Slim Pickens in Dr. Strangelove) going to ride this thing out, and get Nuked in the end. What a complete idiot.
On the plus side, we'll still be here, discussing the case til then![]()
