So you mean to tell me that Quark, Rom and Nog were inadvertently responsible for the creation of Section 31?

Without Gaila, S31 would never exist. :wtf:

So, what does that mean for the Kelvin timeline?

I just finished this and I thought it was very good. One of the more enjoyable TOS books.

I don't know how I managed to miss seeing this last year, but found it about a month ago and finished reading it today. This was a terrific follow-up to From History's Shadow, and I really enjoyed seeing Lincoln interact with Kirk and Spock again. The various references to the Eugenics Wars (among other things) made me smile when I came across them, as did Nogura reading Kirk the riot act over his numerous temporal violations.

And the very end - yeah, that was great. I really hope that Dayton decides to write another one and take that idea even further. I'll be looking for that.

The upcoming novel Hearts and Minds is going to be a sequel to History's Shadow and Elusive Salvation.

In the first second, I thought you that mixed up with the Excalbian episode and book, then I realised there are two Lincolns in the Trek franchise that Kirk & Spock met.

Just as an FYI, it's going to be a post-The Fall TNG book.

Thanks for the info, guys! I guess the beauty of having missed ES last year is that I won't have to wait so long to read Book III.

I finished reading this one last night, and I really enjoyed it. It was fun seeing Roberta Lincoln and Mestral again.
I'm a big Guinan fan, so I got a kick out of her brief appearance early in the book.
The stuff with the Ptean and the Iramahl was pretty interesting.
The last sentence of the book was a cool little reveal.
This gets a solid outsanding from me. Very well done, @Dayton Ward.
