Pretty much my thoughts...

Fight for what? Guidelines from CBS is what they demanded! :scream:
I better call this now, just in case...

Alec Peters is the greatest performance artist of all time. Joaquin Phoenix's run will pale in comparison when it's all said and done.

Seriously, Axanar (?) (who is it behind 'project small access'?) is doubling down on claiming they are the champions of victims, after every Trek professional that exists now understands they are encroached upon by Axanar's conduct, and every fan film that exists knows they are shut down by Axanar's conduct?

What a house of cards to keep this up. Unbelievable.

Reporters are eventually going to start listening to someone besides RMB, Alec, and Mr. Bawden. Like... everyone else professionally involved in Trek.
They don't care, not as long as they keep the money flowing and the doors open. They will burn every production they can as long as it means more from their donors.

So any of you fan film productions going to join this group

WTF? If Axanar and Alec Peters get and accept a settlement of the C/P Copyright Infringement suit; how are they going to be able to 'fight' for anything related to Star Trek fan films? Hell, as the Guidelines stand Alec Peters, Mr. Burnett and hell, David Gerrold are effectively barred from participating in any Star Trek fan film.

Are they all now so deluded that they're thinking they (Axanar and Alec Peters) can take this case to a Jury and win? Also, (and as I've mentioned in previous posts) since all three WERE parading the fact that Disney had Guidelines for Star Wars fan films; and that CBS and Paramount should enact similar Guidelines...I mean that's EXACTLY what CBS and Paramount did - and in fact the CBS and Paramount Star Trek Fan Film Guidelines are LESS draconian than Disney's Star Wars Fan Film Guidelines. <--- Now they want to fight against getting EXACTLY what they themselves asked for?:wtf::rommie:

NNW Studios® ought to consider exploring a relationship with Ron Howard, to do a Mockumentary - a lá Arrested Development - on "The Story of Axanar - The Thief of LA"

I am already writing the Voice-Over Intro...

...I spoke with Ron, and he said no problem!...

Let me show you Alec Peters, Robert Meyer Burnett, and David "I have no dog in this fight" Gerrold's argument in a nutshell:

on the day of Brexit I have some other concerns right now, but whilst I have been waiting for the fall out of this, can I now just hate Axanar for everything (not including Brexit)

Oh, feel free to hate them for Brexit, too. They both share the same ignorance and lack of understanding on how the real world works.

If you buy into the narrative that the people behind Axanar have been aware for some time that completing their movie is now an impossibility, which I do, then these guidelines are manna from heaven for them. It cannot be completed as initially sold (and that is the right word, I think) and now they can point to these guidelines as the reason.

In fact, I wouldn't be at all surprised to see more inflated claims of just how good it was going to be because of this. And this will, of course, stir up more division and anger against the owners of Star Trek.

Sad and avoidable.

To reiterate a point I made several months ago, there is the possibility that donors or state officials could seek to recover damages under the California Unfair Competition Law, which prohibits not just fraud but any “unfair, deceptive, untrue or misleading advertising.” This one of the broadest consumer protection laws in the United States, and it would not be especially difficult for an aggrieved donor—or an enterprising prosecutor or county attorney—to bring a claim based on any number of statements acts made by the principals involved with this project. Merely issuing a general disclaimer in some advertising materials is not, in my experience, sufficient to avoid any and all liability under the UCL.

Let me just say it's good to see you again Skip.

Well I was a Vote Leave campaigner and am very happy with the result. But I assure you Sir, I am not responsible for Axanar! ;)

If you want to label over half of the British population ignorant go ahead. Please feel free to sacrifice your own sovereignty to unelected bureaucrats if you want to, but don’t ask other countries to do so. :vulcan:
I cant help but feel there are more people who are more directly to blame for Brexit than Axanar
Yep. me
