STC Ep. 7: "Embrace The Winds" speculation and discussion....

While we can still discuss Ep. 6 "Come Not Between The Dragons" we can start speculating about STC's forthcoming Episode 7.

We know that Ep. 7 is supposedly to be released this coming September. We also know the episode's title, "Embracing The Winds," unless there is a change between now and its release.

So now comes the speculation and anticipation of tidbits being "leaked" out and proffered through the usual forthcoming interviews and podcasts.


If we can accept "Embracing The Winds" as the given title I feel it has connotations suggesting change for some of the characters. Of course, I could be completely off on this. While I felt "Come Not Between The Dragons" suggested the crew being caught between two alien antagonists the story did not play out as I might have expected.

So let speculation and discussion begin...

For those who have not heard yet, Beau Billingslea (Captain Frank Abbott, Star Trek into Darkness) is going to be in this next episode playing Vice Admiral Stomm. We don't know much about this character yet except for the fact that he is Vulcan and according to Billingslea is integral to the plot.

I would have liked to see him reprise his role as a prime universe version of Captain Abbott as in the JJ verse he was killed when Kharn attacked the Daystrom Conference Room.

'Vulvans' in Swedish is the plural for the outer genitals of women.

Nice interview with Beau it will be nice to see a Vulcan admiral being integral to the storyline for episode 7.

I'm reminded that Trek fan film fans who have had the itch to actually see some non-human on board a starship (and not just hear about them (i.e. the Vulcan-manned Intrepid) already had that itch scratched years ago in the Star Trek Phase II episode "Enemy: Starfleet!" We saw the Andorian captain of the Andorian-manned U.S.S. Eagle. (Yes, that's Vic Mignogna as our Andorian captain.)

I'm guessing they'd drop a line in about how Spock, at one point the only Vulcan in Starfleet, would suddenly have an older AND higer-ranked Starfleet officer with Stomm?

Regardless, with Vic's mining of the local voice talent pool for roles, I'm not surprised to see Beau (the English dub voices of Colonel Millard from Macross Plus, and of course Jet from Cowboy Bebop,plus innumerable other voice credits) joining in. Looking forward to it.

Nowhere in TOS did they ever say Spock was the only Vulcan in Starfleet. Indeed in the second season they referred to a Starfleet starship--the Intrepid--manned entirely by Vulcans.

Yes, upon reflection, I stand corrected. I subscribed to the urban legend for ages, and had always thought the Intrepid crew to be some sort of special case, back in the day.
