Spoilers Supergirl - Season 2

Preach it! Preach it! :)

Wally is the one, true Flash for me. (Heck, I even prefer Jay Garrick to Barry Allen.) Kyle Rayner is my Green Lantern (frankly, he was the first time I ever cared about Green Lantern), and as much as I like Oliver Queen I love Conner Hawke a whole lot more.

The most interesting thing Barry ever did was die.... he was a great plot device. I miss the Flash Family from those days; Max Mercury, Jesse Quick, Impulse, Jay, Wally....

I actually liked Hal.... I could actually emphsize with his tragic fall. All the power in the Universe, but isn't allowed to save his City? Completely losing it? Going Anakin Skywalker.... before Anakin Skywalker? Justifying all of his atrocities because by that point, he was in too deep, but knew if he kept on pushing and rebooted all of time, he could fix it ALL.... so the ends justified the means.... because he was going to undo every death... meaning it wasn't even real.... completely fascinating storyline to me.

I started reading comics with Knightfall and Spider-Man Maximum Carnage...

Holy cow, that's like... short of Back in Black/One More Day, that's the worst possible introduction to Spider-Man in comics, if not to comics in general. I could barely stand to read just the three parts of that story that were in The Amazing Spider-Man, let along the other nine parts or however many there were in the other titles.

Speaking of the Flash family and "when you came in" conversations - what's funny about Jessie to me is that I first encountered her as Liberty Belle in the post-OYL Justice Society and that's still what I first think of with her comics incarnation (though not in the TV show, of course).

When did they reveal that Cadmus and the DEO were related?

They didn't. They're separate government agencies. Cadmus is the even more secret, even more unethical black-ops program whose operations even the DEO head isn't cleared to know about. After all, J'onn did not know that Cadmus had Jeremiah in custody, so obviously Cadmus is not part of the DEO.

My inner geek hopes that Emma Caulfield returns as Cameron Chase, joining the DEO, because, you know, that agency was created in the comics specifically for her character.

Thinking about it, it's kinda funny how J'onn is the head of the DEO on this show, considering the relationship J'onn had to the DEO in the comics, specifically the John Ostrander series.

And it was more focused on superhumans than aliens, wasn't it? More SHIELD than SWORD, as it were.

Not an amiable relationship, I take it?

Yes, but the TV version kinda broadened its focus thanks to Supergirl and the earthly villains she fought.

In the comics, J'onn had dozens of human identities all over the world (and non-human, as well, he also was an alley cat). During an investigation of the death of John Jones' partner, the DEO stumbled over a list of all these identities, and the head of the DEO tried to blackmail J'onn into spying on the JLA for him. J'onn didn't budge, and the DEO released all of J'onn's secret identities.

Moving supergirl to the cw for season 2 and thus saving the show was a smart n good move. I was lucky enough to watch most of supergirl on the cbs app. I was surprised how fun and entertaining the show is. They definitely left so much hanging during season 1 that it will be cool to see how they resolve and build upon season 1.

It will be interesting to see how the move to the cw will impact and change the show. Hopefully they will let Martian manhunter win a fight. He always had his ass kicked in the first season. Maybe a lex Luther to foil the girl of steel? At least we know we be getting a 22 episode season. The cw gonna be busy this year to keep all us fans happy and satisfied.

I know there are quite a few difference the characters, but with Max Lord playing such a big role in the show, I think I'd rather not get Lex too, it would feel repetitive.

^I think One Lucky Red Shirt meant a character who would be the equivalent of a Lex Luthor in terms of being an arch-nemesis for Supergirl, not the actual Lex Luthor. Of course, that's basically what Max Lord was for most of the season -- and that bit at the end with Gen. Lane giving the Omegahedron to Max suggests that he's still not entirely on the side of the angels.

And IMO Max Lord still is to a degree. I mean in the comics there were a few times Superman and Lex Luthor put aside their differences and worked together to 'save the world' <--- That's pretty much all that's happened when Supergirl and Max teamed up to destroy Myriad.

^Yes, that's what I meant by the part about the Omegahedron. Well, Max is more ambiguous than Lex -- he does seem to have come to genuinely appreciate Supergirl and no longer considers her presence an existential threat -- and his motives aren't as selfish as Lex's, because he sincerely believes he's trying to help people and serve the greater good, while Lex is just trying to prove he's smarter and better than everyone else. But Max has enough ambition and enough of an "ends justify the means" mentality that he can still end up doing bad things.

Oh damn! Forgot about max. Yes i meant more a lex luther type character rather than lex himself. Even though max started out being a lex typecharacter he lost it towards the end. Manhunter sure didnt win any fights this season. Kinda makes u see how his people on mars gots their ass kicked haha. I just wish he was more powerful than what he was this season.

Maybe next season they wont make him mr. Knocked out dude every other episode. Its a shame because the martian manhunter is so kick ass and very cool character. Cant wait to see where the whole dean cain plot is going. And the ship at the end of the season? Very good cliffhanger.

I do see supergirl being more involved with the flash and legends of tomorrow rather than arrow. Cant wait to see what they do with this show. I hope they keep the cast intact. Maybe even make max more a good guy/bad guy mystery character. One min. We think he good than the next he flips.
