Terry McIntosh's departure was formally announced in the Axanar secret donor Facebook group and the Axanar Fan Page, thusly:

Which begs a question: Is a parody of IP infringement that uses that very same IP being infringed upon OK? Yes, we are getting into weird territory.

I have to admit, even though I know this works for anyone's FB page, I do find this stupidly amusing, given the irony:

I've updated the Terry McIntosh article on AxaMonitor with his resignation, which includes his comments on the future of Ares Digital, being blamed for Kickstarter backers' languishing patches and how he believes he's protected from the threat posed by the CBS/Paramount lawsuit.

Hard to take such sexist abusiveness as he shows towards critics as anything but infantilism. Hate to be so direct, but honestly, people who live in *this* era of the planet do not behave that way. I'm sure it impressed idealistic supporters of Trek no end to see such abusiveness being put in charge.

I still can't shake the sense he and the defendant are business partners in a coming streaming service business venture. The defendant talked in print about becoming the new method of 'fans' receiving what they want in a sci-fi-like channel using Ares.

Agree they said it, but the only way that would happen would be if they somehow hyped their way into a compelling contract or angel fund (yea right without any chops), and then went out and hired people able to do such a thing and attracted by the contract rather than anything to do with the studio. Building a web store, or directing a fan film short, neither even lay a grain of sand in the grout around the first brick on the Mt. Seleya climb of creating a streaming media service.

I 'think' Mr. McIntosh has recently been emphatic that Ares Digital is all his idea, work, and expenses paid out. So, technically, him? I still can't shake the sense he and the defendant are business partners in a coming streaming service business venture. The defendant talked in print about becoming the new method of 'fans' receiving what they want in a sci-fi-like channel using Ares. With my own thoughts that the goal being the defendant makes or facilitates the making of films, and Ares (my own thoughts this will be the defendant & Mr. McIntosh) is the company that will stream them to subscribers as well as receiving the payments. In addition to being a web based store for marketing 'stuff'.
I'm pretty sure the streaming service ship has sailed, with them left ashore.

Yeah, I do see what you're saying here. Makes a lot of sense to me in a way even if I don't know if I could go that direction in thinking myself, at least not at this time. Though, interestingly, it's probable my musing on this have just been rendered moot anyway if, as this newest information seems to show, there is an actual rift in progress..

Now my thoughts are turned to, as is mentioned on Axamonitor, "What's the future of Ares Digital?" if Mr. McIntosh is splitting from ax productions,

I do feel it is not appropriate to be examining the lives of companions of the Axanar principals here. Even if it is intellectually somehow linkable in some detail, it seems wrong to go fishing. YMMV but I personally think it better to let this sort of subthread rest.
I tend to agree. But reading strictly about Crysstal Hubbard's professional work, what I found rather fascinating were the eerie parallels between what she's done / plans to do with Girl Unburdened and him with Axanar, and the similarity in their respective resumes. There is a 19-minute YouTube video of her in an interview, dated Jan 2015. She does seem like a genuinely nice person.

She spoke at length about her education and training in theatrical / film production, and her experience as an actress which she feels will make her a better director/producer. However, her IMDB listing only goes back to 2012 showing bit-parts in several short films. She had the lead roll in a 15-minute short "Bike Chick".

In the interview, she described her life-long dream to write scripts and make films expanding the stories of relatively minor comic book characters, and thus her ambition to gather the best, most professional staff and crew she could assemble. She then cast herself in the lead roll as Kara El, aka Supergirl.

The project changed its name from Supergirl Unburdened to simply Girl Unburdened, thus filing the serial numbers off the copyright (just like Star Trek: Axanar became simply Axanar). The first preview trailer (1 min 36 sec runtime) on YouTube start with the disclaimer that Unburdened Entertainment is not associated with DC Comics nor Warner Brothers studios, calling it a "parodic fan representation" and "not intended for sales". The second trailer (32 sec) has no such disclaimers.

At the beginning of the 19-minute interview, she says she this project "is a way to create a foundation for a production company that someday will do original projects." Again, this was more than a year ago, presumably before she and Alec met. Very eerie. However, in her defense, she never talked about funding, and I can find no evidence on either her Twitter nor Facebook pages that she has done any sort of crowd-funding.

I will say that based on the hints she dropped about potential story plots, it does seem like something I'd be interested in watching. (I said and still say that about Axanar.) Hopefully the acting is up to snuff. The still photos posted on Facebook, the wardrobe leaves a lot to be desired. Her Supergirl suit looked like a home-made cosplay outfit. I know next to nothing about cosplay, but I do know I've seen better costumes.

Okay, that's uncalled for.
Then I apologise but I found it staggering that this woman was being patronisingly described as "extremely sweet" based on what? Her online persona? Her online image? For all we know this lady is also enjoying benefits derived from the money donated by Star Trek fans. During the short time I've been following this I've noticed a certain level of ire directed at the likes of Peters, Burnett (Meyer Burnett? I'm never sure) et al and yet Miss Kingsbury and now Miss Hubbard often receive a free pass and I find myself wondering if that's down to their gender? The only thing missing is the soft-focus on them just like in TOS

But again, I apologise. I should have gone with Ri Sol-ju ;)

I don't know about Maurice, but the reason I said it was uncalled for was by comparing her to Eva Braun you invoked Mr. H. and his N. party, which is always the kiss of death to a discussion thread. Do that and we'll never hit one-thousand pages of postings.

How about Hilary Clinton then? Maybe I'll stop while I'm behind...

Well, I wouldn't vote for her to be the local dog catcher, even if she does have experience trying to keep Bill on a leash. So, say whatever you want to about HER.
