That does seem like a prudent move doesn't it. My own first thought was that this separation from the production company might be 'doe' tactical rather than separating from business with the defendant. The same way the studio, in name if not in future fact, is in process of being separated from the production, with donations being returned to the recipient 'proper'. I mean, Mr. McIntosh has been seen to be unequivocally supportive and seemingly on the same page and track as the defendant in all things which makes an actual coming to senses seem, at least to me at this time, unlikely. And while I think separating from the production to be legally prudent in light of Mr. McIntosh possibly being up there at the top of the list of possible does, I'm more inclined to lean toward the Leaving being a legal tactic with plans to continue to be part of the possible restructuring plans as per, well, W&S & the defendant. Which 'could' in my imaginings see them remaining business partners in whatever form the restructured plans take for the defendant as producer of filmed stuff in a possible re-constructed retooled renamed different Production company, that maybe also expects (hopes if the court pleases) to include the contested film in some version. So right now I am hesitant to be confident that the separating from the production company to be indicative of an actual separation from being in business with the defendant.
Anyway, those were my first thoughts when I read your post.
