I have seen this recent Ep. 6 and it has nothing to do with Klingons.
That still leaves episodes 7-13 to maybe show us something Klingon or Romulan related.

Although the CGI in the teaser is over the top for a 1969 effects shot, at least the items portrayed inside the ship look like stuff that would have been there... in particular, the reused Nomad prop visible at 2:09.
I have been thinking about how that could hae been done in 1969/70 and it might have been possible with a bit more time and money and creativity. Note how the pov zooms in very quickly toward the ship, into and through the hull breach. Perhaps that could have been done with a set of matte paintings filmed in sequence. Maybe?
Start with a zoom in on the Enterprise model (like the opening shot of 'The Cage') with a hull breached panel (matte painting) superimposed. Stop camera when matte almost fills the screen, switch painting. Move through the new painting (multiplane/rear projection) into the damaged hull sections (miniature, like parts of Starfleet Academy in TWOK). Stop camera, change background from matte to far shot going into actual corridor set. Resume shot, move through miniature into corridor set. Speed the whole thing up in post.
Yes. I was thinking of something like that. So while the shot looks complicated by standards of the day it actually could have been done.
Not meaning to say it couldn't have been done, just unlikely they'd have ever done it on a TV budget.
Agreed. I think we are cutting STC some slack in terms of showing us something that could be technically possible back in the day rather than likely.
In "Fairest Of Them All" they showed us people actually on the flight deck with the observation deck in the background. That is another thing that was technically possible for TOS, but unlikely given the time and budget constraints. Same in "Lolani."
The reference seems to say there are only eight Constitution-class ships left after the loss of the Lexington, but whether what happened to the Lexington is related to whats happening to the Enterprise could be a matter of interpretation.
It's somewhat amusing how many people confuse different fan productions as being of the same group.
On Doug Drexler's FB page I complimented him for his work on STC. In extant of complimenting his Enterprise model I expressed the hope to see him render the TOS Klingon D7 battlecruiser for STC if the appropriate story should arise.
Someone expressed that it had already been done. Well, perhaps it has for another production (perhaps NV?), but it hasn't been done for STC and I have no knowledge of Drexler doing a Klingon D7.

Well to be fair before STC came into their own some of the same people were involved in NV and Farragut.
Yes, Andy Farber's stuff is blending in beautifully. It stood out sometimes in 4 and 5 because it needed to, but here it just does its job and works perfectly.

Yes the special effects are more modern but I believe that is one genie you cannot put back in the bottle. People are not going to accept cheesy 1960s TV special effects. It would detract from the whole episode and would be what people talked about instead of the story, acting, etc. It might not have been possible on a TV budget but it was possible. Probably one the the best monsters of all time was years b4 that in The Forbidden Planet.
And will people please stop calling the original TOS effects cheesy? They may not look like much these days, but back in the '60s, WHEN THEY WERE DONE, they were not only state-of-the-art, but many of them were considered feature quality. Meaning those who judged their quality said they could have been used in movies, and looked awesome while they were there.
