    So, just a little background:

Back in August of 2012, I began to design these printable Blu-ray inserts for the Star Trek: The Next Generation Blu-ray sets as a way to be able to read the contents of each season set without having to remove the first disc. Now, some have pointed out that you can just simply reverse the artwork already available in the case -- and while that's certainly true, frankly it looks odd (to me anyway) and makes the inside of the set look ugly with all the outside artwork and information showing through the case. These inserts, on the other hand, avoid all of that and are made to fit perfectly under the two plastic prongs that are designed to hold printed material inside the Blu-ray case.

Originally, I just did one per season, but soon it became apparent that others preferred different background images, so I eventually came up with three styles to choose from for each season, meaning there are now a total of 21 inserts. (Thanks must be given to TrekCore for providing high-quality 1080p screencaps from the Blu-rays themselves for me to use.) The inserts were also originally just flattened RGB PNGs, but now I've made them all CMYK Photoshop PDFs with embedded text so they should print out nice and sharp and with the correct colors.

Since then, I've also added another 21 variations as episode guides with short synopses of each episode. For these, I recommend test printing in black & white first on normal paper to make sure you can properly see the synopsis text as it is very small and some may have difficulty reading. When you print, make sure your zoom is set to 100% and that it is not being scaled in any way. Printed size for all 42 should be 4.75 x 5.75 inches. For final printing, I recommend glossy Kodak photo paper (48 lb., 6.5 mil).

The download links will be active for 90 days. Hopefully I can get them on TrekCore permanently before then, however if not, and you're reading this after April 28th, 2015 just PM me for new links. :)

These were originally done in the following thread on a season-by-season basis.

    http://www.trekbbs.com/showthread.php?t=185696

When Maxwell Everett put a collective summary at the end of the thread, I asked him to create this new thread specifically for the complete collection. This is a huge project and deserves the attention it has received.

Many thanks for the hard work. I keep forgetting to download these but I will do so as soon as I remember (and I can get hold of some good paper)!

Well, I accidentally bought the wrong size paper, but neverless they make pretty good 4x6 prints (sorry for the bad photo):

:techman: Still looks pretty good, as long as no text got cut off -- can't quite tell. I apologize, looks like I forgot to point out that 8.5 x 11 inch paper or A4 would be the proper size to print on.

For those who haven't attempted printing these yet, you can print in either landscape or portrait orientation, and I'd recommend using a ruler and a hobby knife to cut them out, or use a guillotine paper trimmer.

Nothing cut off, had to shrink it down to fit. Still perfectly legible at that size.

Hi, the links are inspired, and currently only lead to downloading what looks a lot like malware.

    Could you please re-upload?
    Really need season 7...

Do the bluray discs have the episodes that are on the disc written on them?

DVDs don't and I hate that... Then there's the annoying little booklet that has tiny print... Couldn't the discs just have writing on them, what episodes are on the disc or could there just be a piece of paper in the box that says what is on each disc...

I have a printed A4 with all the discs and what episodes they have... still, bit annoying.

The blu-rays don't have the episodes listed on them. They're written on the inside of the case. Sometimes if you want to see what's on disc 4, you have to take disc 1 out of the case.

Sorry about that. I've created direct download Dropbox links this time now so a) they won't expire and b) some other dubious file won't take its place.

Just right click and "Save file as."

    Yes, thank you so much!!!
    Just love these.

Do you still plan on making similar ones for Enterprise?

While I like the idea of nicely printed inserts, my solution with the Blu-rays of TNG echoes what I did with the TOS Blu-rays.

Since all seasons have slipcases, I've simply turned the inside-the-plastic inserts around the other way, so that the episode titles face out when you look at the keep-case itself. All of the pertinent artwork and general info appear on the slipcase.

    Simple - easy.

Nothing wrong with that! It's a clever solution. As I've said before, that's sort of the Russian reply of, "We use pencils" to the NASA project to create a space pen that can write in microgravity. What you don't get with your solution, of course, are nice, succinct episode summaries. And these were really more of a side addition to my bigger project detailed here:

Amazon sent me an email offering TNG Complete Series on Blu-Ray for $123 in the US. Shame I purchased them all individually over the last few years.

Are the airate listed anywhere? I would rather see the airdates than stardates. seems like all the blurays just have stardates for some reason.
