Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 - Discussion (SPOILERS LIKELY)

Great episode. I liked seeing the Secret Warriors in action and I totally didn't see that ending coming. I half expected to see Deathlok but I guess rebuilding him will take long than building Coulson a new hand.

Not too crazy with the Dark-Side Daisy arc they are starting- I liked watching her grow into leading her own team and wanted to see more of that.

It's somewhat ironic that it seems many people are unhappy about one of the main characters being under mind control. Considering that's exactly what a lot of people were lobbying to be the case, back in season one when Ward turned out to be Hydra.

And I'd hardly call this an "arc" for Daisy akin to Dark Phoenix (not even the half-arsed version in X3.) She's been temporarily whammied and I'm sure she'll be un-whammied in the next few episodes. I'm not saying it won't have a lasting effect, but it's hardly a radical new direction for the character.

*grumbles* the DVR cut off with a minute to go. What was the final scene?
Assuming you saw the bit with Daisy literally making the floor of the hanger ripple with waves, the final tag scene was Hive and Giyera talking in one of the rooms of the Hydra base.
G: Preparations have been made to leave, we need somewhere safe. With what we did to his daughter, I worry Malick will turn on Hydra.
H: That won't be a problem, Gideon is dead. Hydra's evolved. (we see Hive talking that white stone out of the book and dumping the book on the floor.)
G: In that case, there is the issue of his estate.
H: I'm aware of his wealth, I'm not concerned. We find Skye next, I believe I know where she's headed.
G: Of course. But there is a considerable portion available to move now.
H: How much?
G: Roughly nine hundred and sixty. Million.
H: Hmm. Malick built something very impressive with his life. Let's spend it.

If it doesn't sound very exciting reading the text, rest assured, it wasn't very exciting to watch either. You managed to miss one of the least interesting or game-changing tag scenes in the history of this show.

Hopefully you guys saw the scenes with Daisy quaking the Shield base, as that was certainly the better of the two endings this week.

Well, you would've missed Giyera looking like a little puppy, as his expression seemed like he really wanted to ask if he could keep Malick's money (after noting Hive's initial lack of interest), but was afraid of getting smacked. :guffaw:

Got to watch this one earlier today. Not a bad episode, but I'm afraid it became a little predictable. Of all the Inhumans Daisy was always the logical choice for the mole. It just made sense.

Fitz and Simmons are getting together? On a Whedon show? One of them is gonna die.
I hadn't thought about, but it probably isn't a good sign. Although technically this is a Jed Whedon and Maurissa Tancharoen show, I don't think Joss Whedon has had anything to do with it since the pilot.

I really thought it would be Yo-Yo for some reason as well as the person who dies in the shuttle. I can't tell you why though.

Okay, things look pretty bad. Our nice SHIELD HQ may be history. I hate it when things get ruined And Hive-Daisy has the Terrigen.

The thing that really impressed me about this episode was Lincoln. I've never thought much of him, but he really came out looking good here. He was the only one of the four Inhumans acting reasonably when they were trapped together, and he also demonstrated a new level of maturity when he was locked up and Hive-Daisy wanted to spring him. Yoyo, by contrast, lost points. It doesn't take a lot of common sense to understand what needed to be done, and it was especially meanspirited of her to give Mack the cold shoulder, since he obviously has a crush on her (SHIELD requires fluency in Spanish now-- surrre, Mack :rommie: ).

It was great to see Fitz and Simmons finally getting together. I just hope it isn't foreshadowing tragedy for them.

And Malick is toast and jam. I didn't expect that to happen so soon.

Looks like we're heading into the final arc of the season. I hope nobody dies. Not even Ward.

I liked it when they were arguing in Spanish and the others got pissed and said I don't know what you're saying!!! :guffaw:

I think Yo Yo is aptly named, I don't like her.

Then we can start calling Joey, Jo Jo, and Lincoln can be Lo Lo, and Lincoln and Joey together can be Jo Lo,

And since Quake is working for Hive, she can be DoDo.

Though there are better names for a person with Yo-Yo's abilities, I like it when heroes are assigned names. She didn't choose it like Iron Man, Daredevil, The Punisher, Spider-man (Maguire), Superman, and The Hulk who all just accepted their given nicknames.

I felt Yo-Yo was the Quinjet shuttle agent as well because of the cross necklace seen floating and she has worn one. I didn't peg her for a mole despite her feelings about government. Lincoln seemed too easy a guess so i was all with Mini-Magneto Joey if for no reason than he seemed to want to belong. Daisy also felt too easy as the mole given her and Ward/Hive's history but that's where they went with it. Especially since someone is going to die I felt Joey was a solid guess, he's kinda of the redshirt Triplett from S1/S2 of this year.

Although in the comics, Yo-Yo Rodriguez is the name she goes by as a civilian, and her Secret Warriors code name is Slingshot. So it's another case of the show's weird habit of having Mack give characters nicknames that aren't their actual superhero names, like calling Daisy Tremors instead of Quake. I don't understand why they didn't just have Mack give them their actual comics nicknames, like how Cisco names the villains on The Flash.

In Spanish wouldn't Yo-Yo be like being named I-I?

BTW, just making a silly comment no need to wiki the usage of the word to rebut ;)

Tremors is a good name for Daisy when she was just starting off- last show demonstrated how Quake is now more appropriate.

Since we have seen the scene twice, not including the previously on I think the crucifix is a misdirect.
