Agents of SHIELD: Season 3 - Discussion (SPOILERS LIKELY)

ABC News can kiss my ass. You have your own show at 11PM, stop interrupting the escapism I'm watching with shit I'm watching escapism to get away from.

I remember CBS did this when Salem's Lot was on many years ago. They came in with a primary prediction before every commercial, thus pre-empting the end-of-act cliffhangers and revelations.

I bet ABC wouldn't do this with Dancing With the Stars or some shit.

It is going to be an interesting month of Tuesdays. Maybe they really are going in all alone without a tie to Captain America Civil War. If the rest of this arc is at good as the recent weeks then I am fne with that.
I doubt it, they already hinted at who's going to be on who's side of that a few episodes back (the one with Mack's brother). It was mostly just Mack, Fitz, and Daisy though.

At least the episode was shown in its entirety as we were returned to the loint where it was interupted, with the show running only a minute overtime.

Edit-dear Android tablet keyboard... Loint is not tne word I was typing. "Point"!!!!

I don't see, though, why they couldn't just put the election update at the start of a commercial break.
Fear that you will turn away to get election coverage. The old line prejudice that we are more important then the mere entertainers that network executives and the news divisions hold. In truth the bulk don't even want that annoying scroll on the bottoms of the screen, if they did they would have been on MSNBC/FOX News in the first place. At least the season is over before California votes because this year at least one outcome will still be in doubt,

Its in his contract for being prematurely knocked off of 5-0
Personally, I can't see him without thinking "Allez Cuisine!"

That's technically all these were, too, since they were calling for Trump with only 21% votes reported in, and for Hillary with something like 34%.

Are you implying that they risk losing ad revenue if the interruption goes long rather than risking disrupting our enjoyment of our show? You apparently haven't figured out where we nerds rank on their totem pole... ;)

Is that true? Oh well. I turned the damn thing off every time, then checked back after 5 minutes or so.

No, just delaying the start of the commercial break. After all, they made their first update at the top of the show and delayed the start of the show by a minute, then paused the show when they interrupted it so that we didn't miss more than a few seconds. So why not just insert the second update at the end of an act and delay the commercials by a minute?

Wow, great episode.
I loved the attack on the Hydra base, it was great seeing the Secret Warriors working as a team.
I was surprised they killed off Malick, but it seems to me he was more there as set up and support for Hive, and now that he's a full strength and has Daisy and Giyera, Malick isn't necessary any more.
I was not expecting the traitor to be Daisy, that really caught me off guard.
The end with Daisy destroying the base was awesome.

I screamed at the television again! At least this time I didn't wake my wife. Like I want to hear the wicked stepmother beat Dopey on her way to being queen. Yay.

For another on topic topic, did it seem strange that the armory wasn't in a locked room, or even in a room at all, just a pile of guns and bombs just sitting there?

Also, all of those Terrigen crystals! Wow.

Mack is supposedly in charge of all alien artifacts SHIELD collects, so why did he not have tighter security on the Terrigen crystals? Just in a chest in a plain looking room? Oy...

Yes, leave all the weapons and deadly explosives on open shelves where everyone can see them and take them without any trouble. What could possibly go wrong?
*sigh*
And, for FUCK'S SAKE, ABC, the primary results are NOT newsworthy enough to interrupt an episode. We can wait until the episode is over, you assholes. It's not an emergency; if we want to know, we will go find out.

I guess technically Lincoln is one of the leads now, but he's still lower on the totem pole.
Not to mention Way Too Obvious.

So is this Trump guy who keeps interrupting the show foreshadowing a new mega villain for Agents of Shield?
Remember what happened to Malick--"Cut of one head, two more shall take its place!"

At least the episode was shown in its entirety as we were returned to the loint where it was interupted, with the show running only a minute overtime.
The New York station that I normally watch it on followed up one of those interruptions with more local coverage of the results...fortunately, I have an alternative ABC affiliate right next to it on my cable lineup.

Ugh, how do my two favorite superhero shows both manage to have terrible episodes in the same week? At least for AoS this isn't the worst episode this year (that would be the Mockingbird focused episode from a few weeks ago), but it was bad. It should officially be a crime against humanity (or at least interesting storytelling) to have a hero being mind controlled storyline. I never even considered this as a possibility. I guess I had more faith in the writers. This is early season 1 levels of terrible.

At least they killed Malick, he was the most boring villain the show has ever had. I think I'll just skip watching the show and just read episode recaps until Daisy isn't mind controlled anymore. I doubt anything worth watching will happen as long as Daisy is part of Hive, and its easily the second worst thing the show has ever done (the worst being the whole Gonzales fake SHIELD story).

Basically the mind-controlled Daisy gave zero f***s now that she was revealed, went into the hanger, locked its door in the traditional TV/movie way (by destroying the lock; amazing how that works to lock AND unlock a door), and then cranked her powers up to 11 to start to seemingly destroy the base.
