Babylon 5

What is the significance of a green shirt?

Remember the episode where the Drazi were fighting over who would lead them? The green sashes or the purple sashes?

Oh - trivia! In that episode there's a fight, and Ivanova gets knocked to the floor under a pile of Drazi. Claudia actually broke her ankle at that moment. No acting involved in the pain reaction.

Claudia Christian actually broke her leg at her home shortly before filming began. J. Michael Straczynski decided to write this into the episode, specifically the scene in which Ivanova gets caught in the middle of a Green/Purple Drazi brawl.

We fans are a bit of a warped group. Things like 'Green/Purple' (the Drazi scarf colors) and 'Fasten/zip' (conversation between Sinclair and Garibaldi on the shuttle) make us smile.

Meanwhile in England...

Nice. :rommie:

What happens, exactly, with green and purple crowds at B5 conventions?
Nothing anymore...but back in the day...I dunno, I didn't start going to cons until after the show was off the air. That said, I've turned my grey hair purple this year (I'm never going to be eccentric any younger, right?) and I'll be sporting a button that says "But in PURPLE...I'm STUNNING" so if I get into any fights at any cons I'll be sure to let you know. ;)

ETA: Almost forgot - for the B5 reunion at Phoenix Comic-Con in 2013 I had custom M&Ms done in green and purple with 'Babylon 5' on them and there were no fights even though they were all mixed together.

It's been a long time since I went to a B5 convention , though the one I most remember is the one in 1997 I think in Blackpool where they had virtually the entire cast there.

Is there any truth to the rumor that Claudia auditioned to play Seven of Nine?
All your answers are just a search away...

On the wiki Seven of Nine page, Talk section:
Talk:Seven of Nine said:
The Triva section of the page claimed that Claudia Christian also auditioned for the role of Seven of Nine. I personally asked her about this at United Fan Con in October 2006, and she told me in no uncertain terms that this was absolutely incorrect. Thus, I have removed that entry from the web page.

The same post also appears here:

There are many more hits with the claim than not. I found no primary source; i.e., direct speech or writing from Claudia.

Found this baby from a second-hand shop. Pretty much in a sweet mint condition even though the plastic wrap isn't. The Price Of Peace contains issues 1-4 and 11 from the original run.

I think some of the best episodes were from Season 1 with the motor bike and also when the body goes missing and at the end, Sinclair says he would like to send a message to the family to honour him - leading one of the main Minbari that episode to frown and ask why... Sinclair simply replies that he would do it as a fellow warrior and as an honoured enemy.

Season 2-5 where much better with the final ever cameo role being The Great Maker himself throwing the switch that turns off Babylon 5 - the impression being that JMS goes down with the station!

Have to admit it never occurred to me that there was any implication that JMS did anything but leave on that last shuttle we saw.

What always amazed me was how we saw the scene of that last shuttle in Lady Morella's vision so very early in the show.

Me neither. Is there any reason TO suspect that his character went down with the station? Why would he do that? It's not like it exploded immediately, there were other people there in the room with him. He just turned off the power, that's all. The station was then abandoned and scuttled by remote. Everything was planned from the get-go.

I never quite bought blowing the station anyway. The supposed reason is that it was no longer an important way station, but was a hazard to navigation. That seems a little contradictory.

While we can guess there was a short period of time between the switch being thrown and the shuttle leaving, the fact that the shuttle left so quickly afterwards... According to some fans, he was once asked what would happen in the final episode, and the Great Maker replied that he'd turn off the lights and go down with the station.

I tend to agree, I think the hazard to navigation bit could have been dropped quite easily. And just say It was being decommisioned because it was no longer needed.
