DS9 Oddities...

Was just watching "The Search, Part I" tonight and noticed the first diagrams of the Defiant we see don't actually match up with the ship as seen. The general shape looks closer to the proposed Valiant from the DS9 Technical Manual.

Any one notice other subtle oddities in the show?

I've noticed a few times in Season 4, specifically "Rules of Engagement" where Worf's baldric just...disappears.

Now you see it,

A scene later...

Now you don't.

^Indeed. I think it's in the first couple of episodes because they tailored his uniform with the grey too low. Instead of just putting it immediately below the grey, they put it above in the "correct" position, which merely draws attention to the mistake!

I was just watching The Jem'Hadar and the bridge for the Galaxy-Class Odyssey looked like a mix between the Enterprise-A bridge set and the Voyager bridge set. I guess the Enterprise-D bridge set was in use for Star Trek Generations at the time, so the scenes couldn't be shot on that set, so that just reused the older sets, especially since the Odyssey's bridge, where you really got to see it, were under fire and destruction.

I'd have to check the production dates, but I think the Enterprise bridge had already been struck by that point, to make way for construction of Voyager's sets. I think the Odyssey bridge was just a reuse of the Excelsior/Saratoga/battle bridge/ship of the week set that had evolved over the previous couple of years.

Since starship bridges have always seemed to be modular, it's not outside the realm of possibility that the Enterprise had a "deluxe" version of the bridge, being the flagship and all, while other Galaxys have a "base model" bridge. Even the Yamato had different looking materials used in "Contagion".

I too noticed Sisko's commbadge in "Rapture" (how could you not?) It's amazing how things like that can go unnoticed by the entire cast/production staff before cameras start to roll.

The Yamato's bridge was a bit different, though it was lot closer to the E-D.

I recall reading that there was a deleted scene where Ch'pok demanded Worf remove his Klingon emblems for the hearing.

Yes, before each captain takes command of his ship he goes through a catalog of material samples and picks out his choices.

Picard: "Ooh, mahogany and beige leather. Check."
Why not? It's no bother to do it, so why wouldn't they ask the captain for their preferred layout?
