The occasional farce. Everyone remembers The Trouble with Tribbles. because it was FUN.

Better merchandising. I want ship models and ship toys, dammit. I can't believe it's been 50 YEARS and we've had all sorts of phasers and tricorders and we STILL don't have a TOS hypospray toy!

I agree with both of these. As far as merchandise goes the only merchandise I'm concerned about is games and dvds

2. No token characters, I don't want to see characters whose defining character trait as just "the black one" or the "Gay one" or whatever. Characters need to be fully 3 dimensional and believable.

So, no one like Uhura or Chekov. Got it.

Not that it would ever really work, but I would give a lot to see a Star Trek/Ringworld Crossover. Hell, I would give my Left Jewel for seeing "Ringworld" get made!

But I think there had better at least be (even just at the front end) some sort of continuity (Soft Core, ok) to connect.

I don't want serialized crap. I want a weekly adventure with occasional 2-parters. There is way to much serialized stuff on TV... I could easily watch that if that's what I want.

My crew doesn't need to die to tell a good story. Just like the story does need to suffer because we can make things look cool and blow things up.

Exploring space, human condition, etc.

I am with you on this one. I don't need it to be the Enterprise, but I am fine with the story being tied up neatly in one hour. I also am fine if they don't use "shaky cams" or cast everything in shadow or have a ship full of depressed, sociopathic, evil people.

Yup... if I want BSG - I'll watch BSG.

I'll be pissed if they put up a ""Mitt (milk-toast) Romney". A series that is Trek in name only.

This franchise hasn't lasted 50 years because it was broken. It lasted that long because it's unique and special. Don't need to go away from that.

Just look how successful 'The Martian' was.... everything doesn't need to have a "dystopian' theme.

My wish: No deus ex machina solutions based on technobabble gibberish that tells the audience absolutely nothing (and has nothing to do with real science).

And, seeing how divergent and absolutely incompatible everybody's wishes are for this show, I'm glad TPTB aren't obliged to listen to fandom in developing it. We would just end up with an incoherent mess!

I too just want good stuff, like the golden days when episodes left us reeling from the implications of what we just saw for days after viewing. Create a BUZZ again!
