PICTURE POST II!

Was playing with the phone today and took a pic I actually liked.

There's a certain resemblance to King Ludwig II of Bavaria. Do you happen to have Bavarian ancestors?

not to my knowledge. Not in the direct line, that is. I am atm exploring the side lines.
I have a colleague named Wolf, though. He's from the greater vicinity of Passau, a rather large town near the Austrian border.

Way Back Wednesday, back in 2009 we went to the opening day for the very first game at Citi-Field. Ian was just born in December and was only 4 months old.

The view from our seats

Shared a few bottles of wine with some guy who runs a planetarium last night. It turns out I have a trustworthy palette.

Anyways, this is us hanging out in his office after a few glasses.

Huh. Old family story is the "old family farm" was on the Austrian Germany boarder, both sides, because it was older than the modern boarder. Joke was that you had to have your passport in order to go to the far side of the property. I don't know the accuracy of the story, but I've been told that there are properties in Europe like that.

My wife and I flew into Ottawa on short notice to inspect our new house before the drywall goes up. There where only a few minor issues that were easily resolved. In just a little over 3 months we will be moving back to Canada and living in this brand new house!

Some of my pictures from my last few shoots

The Boston Skyline from Wachusett Mountain (about fifty miles west of Boston)

A trailhead at top of Wachusett Mountain

King's Chapel in Boston

A couple shots taken on Tremont St, just north of Park Street Metro station/Boston Common.

Taken on Boylston, near Fenway

Laser Beam would hate this one  Also off Boylston near Fenway

Below are taken at Blue Hills, a park south of the city, especially popular with those residing in the southern suburbs.

Great view of the Metrowest including the aforementioned Wachusett Mountain

I received a small tabletop telescope as a gift a few weeks ago and I decided to buy an adapter for my camera so that it can be directly attached to the telescope to take pictures. Tonight was my first attempt at taking a picture of the moon and this is the best shot I managed to get.

I must admit I am disappointed with the result. The telescope is really light so when I attached my camera it moved the telescope off target no matter how hard I locked it down. I had to constantly re-aim the telescope. It was also really hard to manually focus it. And although you can fairly clearly see the variations in the terrain, it is nowhere near as clear as it was looking directly through the eyepiece. More research is required if I want to take better images..

Just for comparison, here is a cropped image I took of the moon last fall using my telephoto lens.
