It really is amazing how well Doohan fills his dad's part. As someone else said with Kirk/Vic, I can forget that he's not the real McCoy (pun recognized, but I'm too lazy to reword it). Though while we're at it, I enjoy Chuck Huber's McCoy, also.

Ah thanks. I was thinking after watching him on STC, theres no way he's not a fan. He has Shatner's mannerisms down to a tee. It's uncanny.

They're just joking around in that second video. They're very obviously just having a bit of tongue-in-cheek humor.

Vic Mignogna is a huge Star Trek fan, and has been since his childhood. There's even a short Star Trek fan film he made years ago when he was in college.

It's a short excerpt from a campaign video starring the red-haired guy, who was running for president of student government at the time, I believe. They explained it a little on Facebook, but what we see here is most likely the best part (mullet Kirk)!
