And in the category "Which Voyager Romances Did You
Hate? I' d say undoubtedly that the palm returns in Chakotay / Seven! The whole thing was just creepy.
Besides, I have a question about this romance:
IF there are some Starfleet regulations which prohibit fraternization with a subordinate officer (although that didn’t stop Picard!

), why Chakotay/Seven happened (I know-I know, except the necessity to give to Beltran & his character a bone to eat away!) and why it would be recognized more "acceptable" (even if it represents only 6,9% in the poll above) than Janway/Chakotay (even if this couple isn't even quoted in the same poll!).
-> I mean, a great majority of those who were against this romance - including me -, were essentially because Chakotay and Seven hardly knew each other outside their respective responsibilities within Voyager. Plus, their romance seemed hasty and even desperate to find somebody (it woud be similar to the discouraged Harry Kim's quest to find a feminine partner during 7 years!

) ... . But what about the concept of hierarchy which seems bothered nobody?!
I mean, Janeway was Chakotay's superior and Chakotay was himself, Seven's superior (ok she had no official status - rank or Starfleet uniform - but nevertheless, she officiated as a senior officer, taking direct orders from Capitain Janeway, Chakotay & Tukov (respectively First Offcer & Second Officer). -> Chakotay couldn't ignore this rule - even if it was a Starfleet's one (worst, in one of episodes from S1, it seemed that he was even against any form of fraternization between people after to have caught 2 officers kissing in the lift and it was Janeway who had to soften angles by explaining that the cohabitation in the middle of nowhere could facilitate the romances between people. Later, when he repeatedly tried to seduce her, Janeway had to remind him that it wasn't right for them to be together because she was his superior).
And of course, not to mention AGAIN that Seven was very innocent and inexperienced when it came to romance and that, Chakotay could not ignore it either - you can admire and profoundly respect someone for what she/he is and/or what she/he achieved without making advances or accepting them, particularly if this person is your subordinate - and you know this could be an issue, right?! (here this type of behavior, what it belongs to a military or a civil level, would be considered as a morale harassment, even if the both parts are inclined to have an affair. I guess that it's the same thing in the United States... ).
-> I was surprised to notice that neither Janeway or Tuvok said anything as if they didn't know what took place between C/7 (would this latter have forgotten to inform them?! Regulations?

)...or maybe, Janeway preferred to close eyes, Voyager had arrived at the end of its journey and the crew was finally going to return home, what was more important for her... But what about Tuvok, the Starfleet and Voyager watchdog?! I am practically sure that he would have made a comment, at least to Chakotay to remind him his obligations as Seven superior offcier and recommending him to wait that the vessel arrived on Earth before officializing the romance...
