This is exactly my thought..... maybe even, through some plot twisting device, to be the actual Hank Henshaw in control of Jeremiah's cybernetically rebuilt corpse.... .giving us the true Cyborg Superman AND a chance for a lot of fun at Dean Cain's expense.
So, CBS announced renewals for 11 shows, but "Supergirl" is not among them.

I'd be surprised if they'd actually cancel the show, though. TV by the Numbers has the show still listed as "likely to be renewed by May 2016" going by the last episode.

One of the things I liked most about this show was the relationship between the two (foster) sisters.
I hope Alex doesn't stay away for long since I don't think we'll see Lucy replacing her in Kara's life.

Yeah, this is not reassuring, but there are reasons they could be delaying a renewal. Maybe they want to see the response to the Flash crossover. Or maybe, because it's such an expensive and complicated show to make, it might take longer for them to assess the budgetary considerations that go into their decision. Which means there could be some budget cuts next year, perhaps resulting in reduced action/FX or a reduced cast size, either of which would be unfortunate.
Not if the person to go is Calista.
All those shows on the list are non-freshman shows.
Makes sense it would be quicker to hammer out new deals for those shows than the new ones, so I wouldn't read much into it.
Nah, she's the only one, other than Kara and maybe Hank, that have any sort of unique personality. Keep Cat and get rid of the boring Winn and Lucy.
They can toss all three; its just a matter of time before Lucy becomes Superwoman, or some TV version of the character, and how long can that be a compelling storyline? Then, her feelings about the James matter is more than old, as she will ultimately lose in that triangle. I say ultimately, because I do think the show will do the boring "will they / won't they" with Lucy before finally dropping that sub-plot.
Winn is just a doorstop at this point, and even in the event something happens such as feeling betrayed by SG if she takes down Banshee, so he becomes a villain, there's not many avenues for his character.
So, if there's a second season, I would hope whatever DC universe is not locked down for the movies--is explored. That is a massive toybox to use.
In The New 52 Zor-El is a new version of Cyborg Superman who works for Brainiac. I'm so glad I don't know anything about the N52, and stopped when I did. It seems like anything that was ever good or made sense, has been retconned and destroyed..... :P
They already did a version of Braniac for the show, and have used the name Hank Henshaw, and have a guy that used to play Superman..... I am going to hope, anyways.....

That article is from March 8. Still no official renewal as of last week when CBS ordered new seasons of most of its non-freshmen line-up.
I see the Supergirl Twitter has a retweet from someone with an article about "How Canceling Supergirl Would Be a HUGE Mistake" so I'd say the question hasn't yet been resolved.

The "character" joins the Legends of Tomorrow cast and makes out with Brainiac 5.
Or...
Melissa plays Power Girl on the CW until the CW gets the rights for Supergirl, and then they have an identical cousins show (Patty Duke? Anyone? Is this thing on?) where they fight crime every week while trying not to make out whenever they forget that they have identical DNA.
However, if Supergirl is renewed...

After Watching Batman Vs Superman, it made me love Supergirl and what kind of show it is, even more. I would hate for it be be cancelled.
Season 2 is coming; all we're waiting on is the formality of CBS announcing that it's coming.
When you have the network president flat-out publicly stating that all of its freshman series are going to be renewed and 3 of the people directly involved in Supergirl itself speaking openly and repeatedly about Season 2 being a certainty, it's "all over but the shouting", as it were.
