I'm not sure about that, Lazenby was able to project a sense of vulnerability that I don't think that Connery would have been able to do, assuming that he would of cared enough to do so. After all, at the time, Connery was burned out on playing Bond, openly feuding with Albert Broccoli and Harry Saltzman , and not at all happy with Bernard Lee and Lois Maxwell. If Connery had somehow been induced to come back, I can't see him putting in any more effort than he did in Diamonds Are Forever, and probably much less, no matter how good the OMHSS script was.

Besides "From Russia With Love", I agree with you, and I like Lazenby as OO7, and his only Bond film "On Her Majesty's Secret Service" was a touching film. The death which happened in the movie was shocking; I mean I didn't see that coming and I'm glad no one spoiled it for me. It moved me because Tracy became a whole person and as I saw the bullet hole between the eyes; I was thinking of the possible life she would've had... now lost in eternity.

Shame Lazenby was fired from the role; I heard his ego went over drive back when. Oh well.

You said groups... Although a group of musicians is, by definition, a band and therefore a group, the members of the band on Titanic were all, by the rules in place on White Star Line ships of the time, not employed by themselves but through an agency. Now, this agency put people together in one group and on one ticket but were entered into the ship's books and ship's manifest as individuals - therefore legally speaking they were not together and therefore can remain on my list

From what I've read (and unfortunately I can't remember where I read this), Connery was displeased with them for appearing in a Bond knockoff called Operation Kid Brother that starred his brother Neil. Apparently he felt that his brother was being exploited by the Italian production company that made the film, and he was not happy that they were active participants in the movie. Also part of Connery's irritation with Broccoli and Saltzman, among other things, was that he felt that they could have done more to stop the whole thing - although I don't know what, if anything, they could have done. Again, I don't remember where I read this, so you can take it with a grain of salt, but it seems plausible to me - for whatever that's worth.
